Area 45, Mahers Landing

Up and down day with the usual suspects. Westerly wind.

Couldn't get settled on the Supersport. Had a try of Kato's 66 Koncept and Carbon Art board. Felt fantastic. Thus the 2 sec peak. Thanks Craig!

Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Good crew turned up to 15 - 18 kts W & NW Mick, Roy , Josh, Joel, Simmo, Pete the Postman, Craig

Sorry lads but I dropped the batton.  Rigged too big came in changed fins and down from Tush 7.5 to Koncept 6.6 Was out on the water passing everyone then smack straight into Mick's Sandbar at 24 kts and put a hole in the 120 xcite.  Limped in and set up the F2 SX MEd 105 with Lessacher weed fin but lost strength in my arms and had to call it a day.  Great to see the rest of the crew get amongst it.  Roy getting into the straps was a huge highlight and a big step for him.  Roy bigger and better speeds will come now.

Super Sport Pro 118 with stock 42cm fin, Ka Koyote 7.4

Started off feeling slightly overpowered, as the wind dropped off 5kn's or so, with a lowish tide, had A BALL.

Great day with all the usuals...

Not the fasted of days, BUT finished off FINALLY getting both feet in the straps for the last 5 runs...  CoolSmile

Hopefully the speeds will come now...

LOCATION: AREA 45

WIND: W 12-20 kts

GEAR:  CA FR 77, 36 cm C3 VENOM, KA Koyote 7.4

DETAILS:  Eager to make up for not sailing the previous day, it was an early start...maybe a bit too early as I grabbed the wrong sail!!!

Thought I'd rig for the lulls so the 8.2 would be the go...turns out I had only put the 7.4 in the van...

Anyway, today was one of the best Area45 sessons Ive seen on a Westerly.  The bank was relatively exposed. although there were still shallow spots where you didint expect them.  I hit once and it was just as well I had put the wrong fin in!...I used the 36 when I should have been on the 40...it only became noticable once the tide started to move and the board didnt have the edge to track upwind.

The sun came out in the arvo and it was quite pleasant cruising down the full length of the run.

Happy days!!
