A great day's sailing - didn't look too promising when I arrived at 11 but the breeze kicked in quite nicely by 12.
A bit gusty but nice and warm and some nice flat spots in the shallows.
Lao and Slowy inspiring company again and also good to see Patrick, Anita, Chris Porter and Ricey out.

Just could not get the set up feeling right today.
Put loads of downhaul on and tried the choco weedy as it got too shallow for the 32. Amazing how far the track had to go back to make the fin work.
Great to see a good team outing.

Finally, after an hour at the computer I have managed to download this file. I think the card reader is not working. Doubly frustrating as I knew there was a PB on the card today!
Thanks for your assistance Mark, I managed to save the files to the computer by clicking READ on the log data tab. The connect / disconnect didn't seem to work but this did.
Not really a distance day, spent the first hour underpoered and fiddling with set up to get the balance right. Not sure I ever achieved that, but I was having fun in the gusts and the wind kept up so I kept going. At one point JJ said to me "You're still out here, are you going for distance or something?" That sounded like a pretty good idea as I had already done 22 nm and still had plenty of energy left so I went for it. 50 km in a session has been one of my goals for a long time. I can tick that one off now. Now for the 30 knot 2 sec and the 15 knot alpha...

On the water 8.45am with the 10m + iS127, work ok but was tiring in gusty conditions. Changed down to the 7m + 127 and got a 29 on the dial. Breifly onto the iS111 + 44 Canefire, breeze had filled in so tried a few runs on the iS86 + 31 speed weed but not consistent enough. Tried the iS111 + 34 FO weed, getting better... running deep into the flats, plenty of water so swapped fin for 38 Talon, best speed on this set up. Perfect. Stayed on this setup until the tide started dropping. Had a few runs on the iS86 + GW 32 but was losing my strength.
Great catching up with Anita (congrats!), Ricey, JJ, lao, a breif gday to Chris P on the way out.
JJ - within 1 knot of the Slow one, there should be a prize for that!
Awesome day on the water, will sleep well tonight.
