It didn't look too promising when I arrived at lunchtime, however as I was rigging I saw a darker than usual cloud so raced to get in the water and managed to catch probably the gust of the day. Then the wind backed right off for ages so after another couple of runs called it a day.

As I was leaving the sky cleared and the wind came in stronger and more constant - happy to make the sacrifice for the crew who don't get to sail during the week Smile

Melville Beach, WA, iS111, RI 6.2m, Talon 36

Took the gusty combo today and it was the right choice. A little full on in the worst of the chop but for the most part schmick. My fastest speed on the 111, hook a good gust with a flat patch north of the kite zone and got 32.77 on the dial Surprised.

Invested in a PFD/Impact vest today... lucky cause I had my first big off for yonks and took the brunt of it in the ribs. A little winded but the vest worked a treat!

Good to catch up with a few crew. I had one great view of snake and lao come back from the point absolutely flying over the chop.

Melville Beach, WA, AU.  115L, 7m.

Just purchased a new GT31. The Genie display shows 27.6 knts, so I'  a bit puzzled, but never mind, there will be other opportunities.

Pinnaroo Point had soem unwelcome guests, so I thouth the river would be safer.

Mark was there, Snake, Jeff. Then just before I left I caught up with Patrick too. I noticed Damo's car, but couldn't spot him. Good to see you guys again, after sailing Pinnaroo's only.

Almost wintery day at Melville with a great team turn out and plenty of crew on the water.

Best wind was at the end of the day, sorry JJ!Innocent

Melville Beach, WA, AU

got down to melville after a tough 59 hour working week to see chris just getting in off the water and i had to go hit him up for a day on his 112

much to my delight he was nice enough to give it up

rigged the 7.0 to match but interestingly the wind filled in quite strong, so it was going to be a real test

i was realy struggling to start with but tweaking the rig board and swapping fins once i was finaly getting it pretty sweet by the end, i had some good slalom practice in the end and once i got the gybing down pact you can see in the numbers the 112 is pretty bloody good at going around corners

all up can't wait to get mine and get the 6.2 on it SurprisedLaughing

7.0 reflex, 112 mistral sl, clockwood carbon 35 pointer (bit too stupid for me in the chop and over powered stuff) then 34 scarrgo carbon pointer (much better Tongue out hehehe stoked i can even say those two fins come close net alone mine is better in some conditions for me)

Hah, glad two of you saw it Tongue out

Congrats on the PBs Obelix, nice to see you in the river. My 5 year old has banned me from the ocean for fear of me being eaten by one of those "unwelcome guests"

Very happy that the workers got some wind today.

Good to see you posting again Obelix, and well done with all those PB's. Obviously you have been improving.

Well timed purchase of the impact vest, Patrick! Prescience? Amazed to see you were sailing again today after yesterday's big effort.

Actually I wasn't feeling too sore or tired today and could have gone again but had other commitments.

Lao Shi - thanks for that link.  Very informative and interesting to see the varying rigging preferences.
