Pelican Point, WA, AU

Tabou Coolrider, NP One 3.0m2

First go on the Coolrider - working out footstrap placements - centreboard really helps.

Fun with cousin Joshua.

Nice to meet Ricey and Macca.

Pelican Point, WA, AU iS111, CR7m, Volt 40

Nice quick sail out of Peli. Super comfy on this set up. Not enough wind to bother going for speed so practiced my upwind technique.

Nice to see Pugsie and Ricey. Pugsie even had a GPS Surprised

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Started with 122 Iso and 7.5 Turbo but wind picked up so changed down boards to Xfire 98. Went well with the 7.5 and Canefire 38 fin. Although sail was rather overpowered the Xfire felt great.

Melville Beach, Futura 101, 38cm, 7m

I seemed to have poicked the 2 hours while it was blowing nicely.

I think the Ka72 has a bit of  a problem. My file was cut off at 12kms, then after loading into RealSpeed, and exporting to GPX, it was better. Another Alpha is zero. Have I not turned at all today. Just went 35kms in one direction?

I haven't stopped for an hour and went more than a mile hoping to get an hour or a mile. Still not right.

Felt very fast for a long time. Faster than ever before, and still under the PB... A bit frustrated.

We'll see at Pelican's tomorrow.

Well that plan sucked.

Got to Dutchies with a mission to sail to Port beach and do a few miles on the way back down.

Rigged the 6.3 in anticipation and had a long slow upwind trek of 30 or more legs picking up weed along the way. Only one other out at Port beach and no sign of the forecast wind so gave up and back to Cott in 5 legs.

Short upwind back to Dutchies and called it a day. Furthest point is about 2.5K offshore

GPS was even turned on and recording ;-) 30.0 on the display. Managed to find a stray piece of rope, wrap it around my fin and pull a decent over the handlebars.... Hmmmm... Nothing broken!!!

Edit: CA SL... Ermmm 66 or 68... I dunno, it's 2011 and 109 l. 7.5 loft blade (vintage) and 40 cm tectonics talon (I think!)

Obelix, you may need to change your GPS settings as per this thread: http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/no-results-for-alphas/

Try it and see what happens.

I've altered mine but haven't attempted any turns since I did.

Did you join your two files after putting them into realspeed?

Thanks Anita. I changed the min speed to 0 but then, but no change.

I've changed back to 4 knts min speed to record today. Doesn't matter, It's not like I'm gybing so well that it would be memorable.
I just feel that the speed results should have been better accross board, especially the NM and HR.

I've cleared the GPS history. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Sorry, joined 2 files? The same file that showed 12 km track, was loaded to Realspeed and exported as GPX and re-imported to KA72, and all the figures went up.
