Pelican Point, WA, AU

Tabou Rocket 95lt, NP V8 6.5m2, T-lab 38cm

First real session on the Rocket. Turns really well and eats chop.

Conditions gusty and lumpy, especially in the middle of the river with the yachts everywhere.

Another 5 knots and things would have been interesting.

5 more sessions to go and I will have beaten my 2012 effort!

Fantastic sail for a weekday down at the Peli Pt slalom. Pretty windy (lit like a christmas tree on my 7.0!!) stayed for all 5 heats which was awesome and had some exhilarating racing with a whole bunch of crew. Good to catch up with Sean and others after the racing. Went out after the wind up pizza and beer for a late blast, which was sensational - Right on dark, with 3/4 bright moon and the cityscape in the background. Couldn't have been better!! CoolCool

Got to the Beaver to see a barge, 4 marker buoys and a boat in the best part of the run and the wind dropping!Yell

Rigged the 6.3 and went cruising but holey and 18knts but nice gybes on the bar.

Wind picked up later and went for some alphas. Best was 14.5 min and 28.5 max. Need to find more cross wind speed.

Switched to Lurch and some weight and ventured up the top of the run. Got a few runs in dodging the obstacles  in the 36's but when they started driving the boat around in circles had a sense of humour failure and called it quits.Cry

Good to catch up with Rod, Mitch, Recycle, Stringer,Elmo and Mr Boat.

Off to try and cure my speed addiction with a 4 day wave intervention.

LB6.3,is90/Choco27weed, Lurch / KA23.

Pelican Point, 101L, 7m, Venom 38

A fantastic day to be on the river. Had  a few races against a mate , and then the fin snapped at the base in the middle of the river.

A very long swim/body drag to the shore, then a very long walk to the parking...
This is the third fin I snapped at the base while going up-wind. Should I lose weight?

Good to catch up with Snake, and Anita. Anita organised a professional advice on the spot. A G10 fin next time.
Thinking of Goldwing 36 to replace broken Venom 38.

Mark, my top speed today is hardly matching your alpha...sigh....

Nice alpha Mark, a 3rd best EVER for you. Nice work! Combined with Jake's alpha puts us into #1 spot for alphas for the month. Well done guys!

I hope you enjoy the wave workshop, but I hope it doesn't cure your speed addiction!

Children are overrated.  As soon as they snif any inheritance, they put you into a home, so I'm careful not to leave them anything. Smile

Smoking corner Mark!! It must have been the exit speed after seeing the white pointer in the Pond? Tongue out Cheers Anita, it was nice to have the support of the team captain, pity you had to leave you would have loved the twilight sail!
