Fun afternoon in the dumpers at Scarbs trying not to disgrace myself in front of my dad who came to watch.
Certainly a challenge but survived the shorebreak and rode a few good bumps.
Followed by coffee and cake at City Beach. LG

Great afternoon sail - followed JJ's instructions and rode some great swells throught the kites, across the point and over to South Perth.
Kites were really well behaved today - the breeze kept most of the newbies out of sight, but after 5pm the density increased which hampered the close in speeds. Wind started softening at about 5.30pm.
Nice to finally meet Grumpy too.

4322 days ago The beaver. Great fun, but always wishing for mooooore wind on the runs. the 23cm fin was a bit small in the chop which had a few dicey spin-out moments.
Good to run some laps with Greg, Slowy, Snides, Adam, Elmo and others.

4322 days ago 2 categories Lured back to the Beaver by another good forecast that didn't quite deliver. Still a really fun sesh with a good crew out
I got down there 2.15 (cos I'm a man of leisure these days ).
On the water @ 2.45 on the Mistral 95 + 6.6 TR7 + 27 Vector speed weed. First hour was crap. Only 20-22K and I was maxing out at 35-36K.
Came in and chewed the fat for a while as Slowy, Spotty, Adam, and Snides turned up.
Got back into it around 4.40 as the breeze started to build and had a pretty good sesh for the next two hours.
A bit underdone on the 6.6, shoulda rigged the 7.0, but I was hoping it would boot in to 25-30K as forecast. We got some solid 25K gusts, but nowhere near 30K. The run was a tad bumpy, and the sound was choppy as hell, but still some fun times to be had.
I'm in the doghouse tonight however after arriving home 2 hours later than I said I would. Damn you Huey

Arrived at Peli Pt after work to find whitecaps everywhere and too much wind for my three largest sails which I had in the car. Tossing up whether to go home for my 4.9 (and the lovely blue board) Stephen offered me his new 4.7 Blade to try, so I accepted.
Unfortunately the wind dropped precipitously and by the time I went out the 4.7 just wasn't enough for any exciting sailing, but it was cruisy and comfortable and surprisingly well balanced on the 85. Would have been a lot of fun on a waveboard I think.

Well I got the pb I was after but not the 30 JJ promised. Guess I'll be getting my money back.
My usuall nm run from Peli down to the Canning was too broad with the chop and I was getting way to much air while trying to hold 30 kts. My best nm runs where from Applecross down the leward side of Peli Point. Fastest run of the day was 0.08 of a nm to short. Big holes in the wind at each end was making it hard to get long enough runs.
2 sec was in the middle of the river in a bloody big rolling chop. Awesome fun. Happy to get that sort of speed out in the bumps.
