hoppybogan (25974km): Lake George, SA, AU Sputnik, 5.4 np raf, 30 weedy Missile, KA Koncept 5, BP 23.5 weedy Southerly 20-25 with some stronger gusts Travelled to Beachport with Tricky and met up with Jimbob and Hardie around lunch time. After lunch followed Jimbob out to the spot and rigged the Sputnik and headed out onto the lake for a look see. Made a mental note of the hazzards ( thanks Jimbob ) and settled in for a hour or so with the others for a great sail. Was pretty exited to get out on the lake and in my haste rigging forgot to tighten the fin bolt and , luckily after the hour, was gybing and swoosh as the fin settled to the bottom of the lake. Jimbob came over and we looked for it and luckily found it. The wind was picking up and the guys came in and got the speed boards going. Hardie cracked the forty and was happy as larry and Tricky and Jimbob were having fun on theirs. I had'nt used my speed board before and was nervous about using it but the guys said go get it. and i did. Suprisingly it was easier to get going on it than i thought and before long had a 36 so was happy with that.
We packed up and headed for home a 6 hour drive, which is a short drive compared to Hardies 3 day drive back west. Was good to see Jimbob again and meet Hardie for the first time and Thanks to Tricky for the enjoyable trip
Tricky Bogan (21799km): 13hours drive 4hours sail & mission to improve the team hour what a road trip with Jeff. And become aquained with my Isonic Speed board. Met Hardie Sailed with JimBob as well. Lake George CA SL 101 Koncept 5.8 32 Lessacher Duo Weeide. Set out to knock out the hour the wind was a bit up & down but sailed on till Jeff lost & then found his fin. Went for a run below the Island with Jimbob & was going to head back & change to the speed board but decided to do 1 more run, the death run missed my foot on a power jybe & let go of the rig & smashed the nose. Was a bit pissed & worn out after the 2 hours stint. It felt like the wind was building so changed down to the 06 5m Koncept & give the speed board is first real outing. Looks like a bit more time to sort that out & settle in. The old koncept was more of a handfull that the 5.8 should have proberley stayed on that but I had all ready fritz the nose of my lovely CA so better safe that having 2 boards to fix. Jeff & I will be back
Jimbob (26496km): Lake George, SA, AU SE 20 to 25 and a few gusts, drove across the flats and sailed from cockys. F2 SXS with 24 choco weedy, 08 5.0 KA Koncept, then F2 missile at the end. Great to catch up with hardie again and never seen someone with that big a smile before he was over the moon with his pb. big drive for tricky and Jeff as well and great to see them on the little boards and nailing there hour attempt, Me I was feeling pretty crap only had 4 hours sleep (bloddy nightshift) so didn't try for the hour first up just settle in and have a look around the place and found a sweet spot and went for some alpha as my pb was 23 and have always had a goal to get more, so happy my top 10 for the day where higher than my pb and had 6 over 25. went downwind ans ran a few nm's along the spit on the sxs, seen a code red sail getting smashed out on the edge into the big lake and he went down pretty hard so sailed back to check on him was Rob from boggy lake, poor bloke was on a 6.7 compared to my 5.0 so stayed with him till he got back enough to walk in, seen him later on his wave gear ripping. Had a 38 on the SXS so went and got the missile when I seen Hardie grinning and new straight away he got his pb, had another couple 38's on the missile but feeling at bit weery and pulled out to go home and get 2 hours sleep befoer nightshift again.
