The forecast promised so much, but delivered so little... Cry

Still a fun little session for my virgin poo shooters run (oh that sounds soooo wrong !)

Great runs down there, but man does it stink (although I was down wind of Daz when I smelt it the most). Tongue out

JP Super Sport 118, 33cm JP Fin, KA Koyote 7.4.  I think I was a touch under finned... especially at the southern part of the run, I was watching the board slide in sideways, and also was able to make the fin cavitate on command !

Hey Fireman - I was spinning out real easy on the Venom 40 and I have a theory that the tide has something to do with it because it was only doing it one way.  Did you find the same?  Mine was heading accross to the Point

Yep Old Salty... I think it was a combination of small fin, tide and large sail that contributed to it ?  Mine was also more noticable when heading out on starboard tack toward Pt Smythe.

Happy to get others thoughts on it.

Hey Fireman I have a 118 Supersport too and run a 44 Venom when using a 7.2, even the stock JP fin that comes with the board is a 42 and goes pretty good.

So running a 33 is more than a touch under finned!

Not going fast enough guys.Tongue out The reason the fin worked going into the tide was that the water was moving quicker over the fin and you could push on it without it spinning out. Be softer on your back foot when going slow untill you get the fin up to its best operating speed. The jp will work better at low speeds as it will have a thicker cross section but be slower in the top end. Smaller fins go faster too just need to be a better sailor Laughing
