Melville Beach, WA, AU

Was cranking when i arrived - guys on 4.0 wave sails so i rigged the 5.8. Dropped out to 10kn as i buckled up my harness then came and went for the rest of the arvo. Choppy and gusty as hell but a nice little session up to dark nonetheless.

Combo was not quite right to start but got it tuned towards the end. A good few out given the ugly conditions.

aaaahhhhgggrsoles with JN JJ and Mark. As said in other posts, wind was wrong direction and pretty much cross shore over most of the bank. Was honking on the far side with some solid gusts. Did a loaded trolley mission expecting the wind to be inconsistent so mostly used 6.4m, Mistral SP95 and CL26 slalom fin. I also rigged the 5.0m with SP63 and a 20cm carbon asy. Fastest run was during a very short wind swing at the end of a rain squall on the small setup. The other best runs were all done on the big board (43 max). Stoked to get out on small stuff again. Shame the wind didnt play with a good angle for the first-timers there. But it still had its moments (getting well loaded on 5.0m in some gusts on the other side of the lake).

Hey Cam, yesterday was an experiment to see if Kath could cope with some outside help (the grandparents on each side taking shifts) while I was on "extended leave" of ~8 hours. I dont think its going to be easy to do that again in the near future Yell. But overall its awesome... as long as I dont remember how good sleep is. Lucky that sleep deprivation helps you forget!
