Marmong Point, NSW, AU

Exocet RS4, Mauisails TR8 7.6, Select SL9 43 - Wind SSE 10-20 kts

Stopped off at the lake on my way to work at 8:30, and after checking it out quickly decided to change my plans and go to work late today!  Desperately in need of some TOW with Green Island only a month away.

Wind dropped for a bit while I was rigging, and I bobbed out in about 10 knots, hoping for a gust.  Drifted back to the shore and had a bit of a walk of shame.  Was about to pack up then wind came back and filled in pretty well by 10am.  Had some good runs back and forth and was trying to practice gybes.  Great to be on the water and John, Gert and Cluffy turned up a bit later on and were blasting around when i left.

Canton Beach, NSW, AU

Gusty moderate south easterly. perhaps 12-15kts with the odd gust up to 20.

I tried out the new board, but only had a 6.0m sail and needed a lot more.

Saw a few people get axed today , INCLUDING ME, hope everyone is ok , gear can be replaced .

After writing my car off the night before and hitting a bank first run and smashing my boom to pieces was a bit rattled for a while and considered calling it a day , Glad i went back out , and stoked with the pbs .The run was a bit short and was only really starting to wind it up at the end of the run , Was taking to long to get set and up to speed for the sweet spot . Its all a good learning curve . Was great so many people came out and took it on , Super hard place to get to . a struggle the whole out and back and also rigging up .The sand blowing around was insane . Everyone who got pbs really earnt it and i respect you all . Special mention to Byron , Who was KILLING IT ,have learnt alot from you mate , thanks !!!!!!!

22.5kts card didnt read rollers /chop Marmong- gusty SSE 15 - 25kts+. one run out of control with 4.8m + 95ltre + 30cms fin.Came in and 26cm fin + 4.2m but heart palps.Sat 20mins still going went out anyway for about 3 runs. I good jump ( massive ramps) + one good gybe..weak from heart palps so played it safe and finished. Couldnt even talk or pull sail off mast without worsening .Drs..

EDIT - Added data - big thanks to Decrepit for salvaging the data Cool Yep thanks heaps!( sue) I even went faster than I thought..

Sue, even if the GPS fails to write to the card it still records to its internal memory, you should be able to recover the data.

Some photos and video from the day.

What a day some photos I took having to much fun to take to many.

The 500m plus walk in and out on the break wall was painful especially at the end of the day.

The run was too short to get to top speed as you were still accelerating when hitting the chop at 42 knots. If the wind had a bit more south in it would be a quicker run as well. You also need to have low tide, Still not complaining very happy.

No weed so I could use the 21cm sling shot how good is it compared to a weed fin.

Used CA44 with 5.5 maui TR8 25 to 35 knots.

Sand every where and I mean everywhere. Still finding it in my ears and eyes. Washing out my gear today has sand every where.

It was so much fun sailing with every one and a big congratulation  to every one for the PBS smashed.  Every one was so friendly.

Nice to meet new faces

Stayed at the pub with Greg, cheap accommodation & top feed but to many beers I thought I could drink, I met my match in Greg. Had a great day and night.
