Another nice sail, big holes in the wind but fun out. Can't remember the last time I had two planing days in a row.

North westerly that started out moderate but kicked in for about half an hour to really powered up with a 7.8.  It wasn't to bad as westerlies go. Some nice bear aways to be had as well. I have a good feeling about tomorrow I think it's going to be a good session. Bring every bit of neoprene you own it's not getting any warmer out there.

Exocet RS4 111, Mauisails TR8 7.6, Custom weedy 32 - Wind WNW 10-20 kts

Nice sail at Canton with the guys and gal (Sue).  Thanks greg for the loan of the fin as I dont have anything to suit the RS4 at the moment.   Weed was still nasty, some big clumps with one catapult.  I saw it coming, so luckily had time to unhook before going around the front!

Canton Beach, NSW, AU 15-20kts not too bad few lulls.. small chop.1st 'normal' type session since I got the GPS. Disappointed in speeds..I was sure I was going faster than that! lol's

Didn't sail in the really flat water as I didn't want to have to work back up out of the bay.Very powered up in the gusts..Starting to bear off more. One decent gybe where I planed out and it was a step gybe too! Usually I can only plane out if I shift feet on the exit..Good fun.. Weed still RS in close although they've cleared a speed channel close to shore..Hopefully I can work out how to post my trail ( just for my records).

Can't get out tomorrow. Have fun!

Nice going Sue! Excellent alpha. Not too far off the guys for speed. You're going to be one to watch.

Oh for some wind... I have almost forgotten what it is...

Thanks everyone..I've been looking at my tracks and I need to bear off more. Also a lot of my gybes end too sharply although it may have been I wasn't powered up enough (??) as the fast one I did had a decent shape..Maybe its just a bad habit.

I need to even out my turns. Re the latest alpha..I knew that was going to be my best so I decided to have a go on the exit run and then a b lull comes along.. typical..

I don't like the way you are restricted at Canton if you want to stay in the flat. Usually I like to work well upwind and then let loose and have some fun. Too powered up to want to go out into the chop at Canton to work up so I end up not wanting to lose too much ground gybing or bearing off.. I'll have to get over that! lol's

Windxtasy how the hell do you get 32kts!? Congrats.. I can't see me doing that..

Flat water, plenty of wind, be slightly overpowered when sailing square, everything nicely balanced, get brave, bear away more than you think.

You'll get there. You're only a newbie at this. It takes a couple of years to get really good at GPS sailing. It's different to just blasting around.
