Early start today to make sure we got some wind.So hard to get motivated in the cold and rain, but hoped it would be worth it.One of the coldest days so far.First time with booties and hood. Booties make it so much harder to get in and out of the footstraps. Doesn't help the gybing either.Better than being too cold I s'pose.

Pete, Andre and Rob out with me in another what turned out to be sketchy wind from the W-WSW at 10-18k and easing.Bill and Anton showed up a little later with not a lot of wind left unfortunately and more rain. Rigged 6.5GTX SL104 34BP weedy. Could have used the 7.9. At least the weed bank was fairly flat with the lowish tide.

Nice sail at Queens Lake with Phil and Dion. Gusty squally Sw at 5-20 knots. Plenty of flat water behind the mud bank, just had to time a good gust. Used F2 sx medium, Hot sails Gps 6.6m, Jp 31cm weedy.

Wind 10-15kts with the odd gust to 18. Nice and cold out there today.

Wallis Lake, NSW, AU Coldest day of the year so far. Gusty wind and once more bogged back in from the weed bank.

Phil Bennett (4130km):

Queens Lake, NSW, AU Fun sesh at Queens with Steve and Dion. Bit gusty, but sweet at times up to 16-18 knots I guess, and sooooo flat on that mudbank. That place is epic! Definitly learnt heaps (thanks for the tips Dion), and getting the gybes a little bit sorted. Had some great stacks trying to sail better than I am...lol Dion and Steve were hamming, so keen to hear results. All hail the mighty Mud Flat!

Started off with a 5.7 wave sail, was under-powered, so came back in and put on the 6.6 GP2- that's better! Took the 111 Futura, probably should of had the 93 Type S and a 30 cm weedy. Next time...

Very Nice Going Phil - a MASSIVE CONGRATS. Hitting 30 is a milestone that you will remember.    It is also the commencement of the addiction to speed - you will be asking yourself now "how do I refine my technique (stance, sail rigging etc) to go faster", and you will try things and you will go faster and faster.

So happy for you mate! Just remember the very short time you have been sailing and all that you have achieved in the sport so far! WELL DONE

Thanks heaps Adam. Appreciate your kind words. All you fast guys have helped heaps. Seeing the speeds you all achieve near daily- and often infront of me- is pretty good incentive to get and better- and quickly! Steve over took me the other day like I was standing still.  My 27 knots was walking speed compared to his 35! So yeah, some of the pieces are starting to fall nicely together. So hopfully it's onwards and upwards with speeds and much needed skill levels.

Cheers mate.

Cheers Speedy Nic. My high level of skill with both the GT31 and my PC are too blame. All good, she's on the board now!  And yep, on the Futura 111. Nice board, so easy to ride, but I recon the 93 S-Type I got of Mr Carantoc is quite a bit faster.  Will try and use it next run at Queens and find out. 35 knots hey, hmmmm, may as well be 45...lol   Hope to see you sailing again soon.

Thanks Raf and Jamie. Cracked open a few Jimmys, briefly sat back and savoured the numbers, then pretty well started scrolling the wind charts and thinking about how to go fasterCool  Won't forsake the waves, just too much fun trying to rip them appart.
