Melville Beach, WA, Patrik 102 FSW, Cross 5.6.

Super fun session, best sail I've had in ages. Great to see so many Pinnas out there today. Happy days.

Great social day at Melville, lots of traffic - nearly took Lao out on one run Embarassed

My 2008 F2 will soon be out on the front verge given the delam and spongy deck starting between the footstraps.

Sad to see it go right when I'm starting to get used to it.

Melville - 98 JP FSW, 101 Futura, 5.2m

JP just wouldn't go. Futura worked better. Another confusing session for me. probably needed a larger, and a different sail.

My wife told me the worst part of my equipment is myself, so to fix that before I buy more stuff as an excuse for me being crap.

Not a good day. Second run and I snapped my mast extension off at the base of the mast. Just landed a bit hard after coming off some chop and BANG! I now have a busted up left knee and right foot, don't ask how because I don't know, just special I guess. Also ripped the bottom out of the sail and put a big dent in the rail of the board.

Showing true  grit  stupidity I rigged a bigger sail, filled the cracks in the board with kneadit and went back out. The foot was a bit sore over the chop so called it quits after an hour. Now I can hardly walk and the other half says its my own fault???

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Another awsome sesion at Melville, two days in row, trying all day to break 30 knots, waiting for the gust and going downwind in the flat water. It felt way faster than yesterday so I was sure that i had broken 30 but agin, so close :(

Had a great time though and was getting some nice gybes in.

Melville again, similar conditions to yesterday.

Got down there at 2.30 and the consensus on the beach was that it was a tad stronger than Friday, so I rigged the M112 + 6.6 TR7 + 36 Sting.

It dropped after I rigged and I questioned the wisdom of rigging smaller than yesterday, but it came back in and the set-up was sweet in the gusts.

Still a fair bit of standing around in the lulls, but the gusts were frequent enough to keep me keen.

Great to see heaps of crew out enjoying the conditions, and stoked to get two days of sailing in a row after a pretty dismal winter. Cool

Sorry to hear of your woes Grumpy. You have every right to be Grumpy tonight. Ouch, ouch, and ouch! I hope your personal injuries are nothing worse than bruising. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I really feel that I have missed out, not being able to sail on these two magnificent days. Frown They were even warmish. Fingers crossed for wind on Tuesday.

Congratulations Alistair! Another session nudging 30 knots, and a really great 5X and 1 hour PB too. Try bearing away even more to increase your 2 sec and get past 30!

Please send your files from yesterday to Lao so he can combine your two files. If yesterday's hour is close to todays you could earn us some points and earn yourself a jellybean.

JJ takes top team speedy again! Smashing it. Shame he smashed the board too!

Grumpy! Nooo! Hope you come good soon. Was the extension carbon or alloy? Got me worried now!

Macka, great to see you having so much fun out there!

Obelix, they were very testing conditions out there today. Don't be too hard on yourself. I was stuggling today.

Thanks to the captain for her sacrifice.

Great job on the PBs, Alistair. Sorry I missed you. I will e-mail your results shortly.

Lao

Its an alloy chinook extension about 3 years old. 48cm and I had it at 32cm so should have been fine. The sail was 5 years old and I got it for free so not worth repairing. Back to a 2 sail quiver. Stuffed my wetsuit when i hit my knee but it was old and winter is nearly over so its not all bad.

Now I can take a couple days off work with an injured foot while I repair the board and do it all again next days offLaughing

Pretty sure the foot is just bruised.

Hey Danijel I'm not surprised you struggled on a 5.2, I was underdone on a 6.6! Mate us big fellas have to rig bigger than everyone else, not smaller. Don't be afraid to rig larger sails in gusty conditions, you can always depower with some downhaul & outhaul if need be.
