Mistral Slalom 91, Koncept 6.6, Meankine 30cm

Well overpowered on the 6.6 and it is my smallest sail (until all my KA stuff arrives next week). Nasty 1-2ft chop at town green. Hats off to the Mistral, she was 100% composed under duress whereas my falcons would have been a handful as experience has shown they are flighty when well overpowered in chop - I was surprised at the control on Misty, never a worry about losing it, so all I had to wrestle was the sail. Only did 10 or so runs, was a handful today. Would have been sweet on my freestyle board and wavesail, but my sails dont hit till next week either - pity, NE winds of 25kn+ are rare....strongest seabreeze I have seen in a long time

Booti Booti, NSW, AU. What a fabulous day! 25-30 knots NNE with lots of people sailing. So much fun and some real woohoo moments!!!!! Started with a 5.5 GTX and Carbon Art, with a new Select fin which was a bit scary in the chop - can't wait to try it in Tassie. Too windy so rigged a 4.5 Poison and much more comfy. Best wind in ages.

Booti Booti Point, NSW, AU

Way windy early on 20+ Knots at 11.00AM! Waited and rigged 5.5Vapor, Falcon SL79 23Vector Weed speed.Got a few good runs but had trouble keeping the fin in the water with the chop. Thought better of staying on the same gear, so switched to 4.7 Poison Hawk 93LTD. Curtis 26.5 B&J fin for some ramps out the back.  Very hectic and choppy even at low tide. Wind was NNE 20-25+knots with some at 30k. gusts. If only it was a true Noreaster!

Good crowd on water. Chris Rob, Peter, Andre , Bill, Ella, Anton and Matt K for a late one, plus a blow in from Sydney. I think we were all stoked for the wind but worked hard staying in control. Cheers for the Beers too Pete!

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

First noreaster and it looked like it was building. It never did!! No ooph to the wind. Rigged too small. Anyway, got wet. Well especially at the end, as I had to swim the last 800m back in.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Got There too late! Had family Commitments. Had a few gusts where I felt powered up, first sail since my rib injury it felt OK while sailing not so good lifting gear from the water. Loft 8.6m raceblade, Bic Vivace 149L race board and JP36 weed fin. Wind dropped away very quickly after the first 15mins of sailing.

Booti Booti, NSW, AU

Took out the 6.0 GPS and a JP SL Racing 92 for about 30 minutes then changed the board to the yellow Sub which is about 75l. Really enjoyed the seshion but wasent any flat water out there. The Yellow Sub handled the chop really well considering its a speed slalom with sharp rails. Matt turned up laiter so i went out again with a 3.7 Zone with the Tabou Rocket which was surprisingly powered up. Nice little bump and jump sesh at the end. About 25-30knts.

3.7 Gaastra Grind, 264 BiC Saxo, 25cm Select wave fin.

Never had sooo much fun on the 3.7, jumping and gybing with Anton on his 3.7 as well and Andre blasting around on his small Isonic.

Gosford, NSW, AU - NE 8-14 knots sailed with Paul Davies and Camo.

NP 7.5 V8 JP 114L Slalom 36cm JP weed free.

Light NE'er with a few puffs of 12-14 knots. Not the best sail at GP as I rigged too small expecting more but still an OK session. Topped off a great Saturday with 2 hours in the morning SUP surfing at Umina Beach in great waves and water.

Yee haa Marauders!!

Gosford, NSW, AU Caroline Bay. NE 10-12knots with a couple of 14-15 knot gusts. JP Slalom 84 2012 with new brilliant Sailworks Race sail NX 9.2. Sailed with Wayne Bailey and Cameron. Good sailing.

Booti Booti, NSW, AU A good day on water with 25kt NNE and a bright sunny day. Started with a 5.5 retro and finished with a 5.0. CA55 and 28 Black Project weed fin. Good work with the PBs Anton. Usual starters down at the point, Gabe & Chris, Rob, Andre, Bill, Ela & Anton and Matt after work.

Far-Mid-North Coast (276km):

Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU.  The wind never quite came in.  Had to use 9.0 on a too small a board.  Not the right combo, but you can't take everything on holidays.  Re-lit the fire though, and looking forward to a good summer at Wallis lake.

Looks like it was way stronger in town Steve. How is the water at the lake in a NE. Is the mudbank usable and flat in that direction?

Steve

NSW
Australia
3846 days ago

Adam the middle of the lake is less choppy than in a westerly, even in 20 knots Ne so thats good. The mud bank normally has about 100m metres of flat water , but the wind is normally gustier than the middle of the lake. If you time a good gust in the right spot can be awesome. My best speed on the mud bank last summer was 34 knots. Overall the lake is best in a E- Ne and Ne. N-Ne can be good like today but the wind has to be over 25 knots at Port Macquarie.

Big thanks for Dion to coming to my aid after i hit the log , big dint on the forhead and lost my glasses which he recovered for me , really knocked me around and sailed back home , which wasnt fun as the wind really kicked in , i was just getting into the grove when i hit the log and wasnt very happy , but again thanks to dion and well done buddy on great speeds , seems to becoming a habit of smacking my butt . the Combo of the hsm 6.6m and small board is working so well

Well done Gabe smashed the speeds today and well done to all the team , tomorrow should be better

How's the head Mark? Nice little scrape you had there, a little bit of claret and all. Looked like you were shaping up for a ripper of a run when that log got in your way!! Hope your doing ok, gees you hit hard! Awesome speed Gabe, how you go that quick in chop like you had I don't know. Great speed atomic, your going really well!! Milsy, Harrington could be a goer Monday, like Adam said I'm keen as! Can't wait, be good to catch up with you and mick again.

Well Done Anton on your two PB's.Doing brilliantly in those conditions! Mark, I feel for you mate. Last thing you need is another injury. I could have easily gotten hammered out there today by going for it a bit too hard, and probably regret it later.

The log in the water is not what you need out there either! Take care of yourself. Sounds like there was huge variation in wind about the place with these posts. Anyway, good session everyone. We're comin' 4th at this stage I think!!.

Sounds like a good day up north boys!!! Was the Booti strip firing today or was the wind too north? Was looking sweet in Sydney then it died.

Gabe, on fire mate!! Looking good Steve, Dion and Aj.

Larko, The wind was too north today for the flat water. The tide was good though.

Sounds like good fun MattK. I'll have to bring out my 262 F2 Axxis next time it's that windy!!  Hope you all get another session in Tommorrow.

Sweet speed Gabe and Dion. Like Mark said Dion, you are the man locally as you are sailing fast with style.

3,7 Matt holy cow!

Lucky no big damage to you personally Mark.J - that could have been bad!!!!!! Much gear damage? Good team work Dion on the check in on Mark you are awesome like that - we need to look after each other like that, u did similar for me at Harrys in May and it was appreciated

Speaking of Harrys - SSW could be the sweetest direction yet - goldilocks direction, deep but not too deep to put swell on the run. We will see...................
