Hugh (11029km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU first day at sandy got here at lunch used 7m and slalom board a bit under powered.
Byron Mcilveen (64447km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU Sandy Point, Vic, AU first sail started on 5.5 with CA speed was blowing over 30knots but south so we were coming back the other way on the speed course and the wind was against the tide and square so not great for speed sailing yet still so much flater than we get at home. ended up 6.6m on 90l slalom board it then came in again but changed to sw against the tide again i then went on the 43 patrik speed board with the 6.6m and got my second top speed felt realy quick but was to square high tide and under powered. Tomorow looks good I am so tired speed sailing is hard work but fun.

Bruce Healey (24349km): Canton Beach, NSW, AU The sea was angry that day my friends. Good thing I went to Canton then. NW-W 15 -30 knotsish, CASL 62, MUF 28. Was dropping off as I rigged the 6.6 but it seemed to kick in as I finished & pretty much howled most of the time I was out & it was pretty brutal. I am guessing my peak speed was as I approached to about 20m from shore to gybe & was hit by a huge gust, went so fast so suddenly & so out of control that my head was full of terror but luckily, years of training at the highest level paid off; my body went into auto drive, muscle memory operated to deliver the correct instructions to my limbs, almost without thought and, like a well oiled machine, I somehow managed to fall in before hitting the shore. I never thought falling in could be hard to do, was never a problem before. Will have to practise more. On the positive side it was warm & beautiful in the water. Is that enough Ricardo?
sboardcrazy (25135km): 5-30kts + WNW Canton Beach, NSW, AU Got there at 12 and a 15-25kt pretty consistent WNW was blowing.I thought where IS everyone? Rigged the 4.8m Sailworks Hucker + 95ltre Rocket with 30cm fin..Wind died to c 15kts .. ummm rigged KA Kult 5.8m as a standby..Then the wind came in as Rus arrived ..grr Rigged the 4.2m Sailworks revo + 95 Rocket and 24 cm fin ( thanks Russ)..B hell.. 1st run I fell in in the big lull before the gust ( usually avoid that) and couldn't waterstart as not enough wind. Finally got going and so B strong I wasn't game to hook in & flew along until the rig was reefed out of my grip and a 50m swim to get eveything..B W 's! Another guy who said he was 95kgs was out with a 4.7m and going great in the gusts so little 64kg me was well over powered.. The 95 was heaps too big for the 6-10" chop and 25kts + wind but I'd chosen it to make it easier for the lulls..Stayed with it a little while and got my PB in a brown shorts run.. B hell the board was heaps too big for the chop and the wind was threatening to get under it and take control b scary as! Few yeehaas! on that one..Came in and rigged the 3.8m sailworks revo. Good in the gusts underpowered in the lulls but enjoyed the gusts..Did the best gybe I've done all year flew in and out so beautifully disappointed it wasn't a PB but gusty wind on the entry & exit didn't help . Got the 78ltre and went back out with the 3.8m and heaven! Even noticed I was singing as I was flying along in the gusts ( wouldn't have been relaxed enough with the 4.2m!) Stuffed one gybe by leaning back and falling off the back.. next one I gritted my teeth and went for it and fell off over the front..grr Oh well I got others..What an adrenaline boost still humming 3hrs later.. Plenty of yodels and yeehaas! I was pretty happy with my speeds until everyone else posted..
