Fanatic ray 102 & R4 7.0 until I got sick of it and then Tabou 3S 106 and Gaastra cross 5.6 .
gusty 20 to 25 knots SW to SE. Pretty lumpy conditions and yet there was the occasional bit of smooth water to be had by bearing away at the right angle between the rollers. Plenty of big ramps provided some nice jumping. Every now and then a big roller would come through and the water behind it would go dead smooth for about 30 or 40 metres which was great fun for a short blast of speed. A great way to spend my RDO, 25 knots of bump and jump and getting paid for it.

Sometimes its pleasant to just enjoy your sailing & forget about speed. Thats what I have to tell myself after spending most of the arvo with the GPS in the car. Got a few runs after I remembered it was supposed to go with me but had spent most of the arvo sucking in, shutting my eyes, contracting the sphincter & going at what seemed incredible speeds through water that was way choppier than you want. I figure that if I am terrified it is 30 knots so I reckon I did 38 today as I was way past terror. So that is the official speed , right?
Tibor out as well (He comes with me to make me look fast), Miller doing rings around us with a 7.1 that ought to have been too big since my 6.6 was too big. Few other blokes there as well, great arvo. Hey Mick, Geoff told me how to get the picture.

Naish SP95 and then Fanatic XXX both with 5m wave sail. Full on 25-30 kts super choppy southerly.
Far too windy and choppy to put the foot down, best day sailing for a long time and one of the slowest.

Great sail at Harrington speed strip today , 36.5 on the AB , then the wind kicked in and tried the new RS Speed , turned out to be a excellent combo , Great to catch up with the North coast marauders , Mark , Adam , Dion and Steve , Also a good road trip with Byron

4035 days ago Manning Point, New South Wales, AU big day 20 to 25 knots 6.6 Maui TR9 with RS2 first for 1 hr got 35knots with this. then whent CA44 with slingshot 21 39.5 first run. Managed 4 runs over 40knots just always wanting more wind with the 6.6 could go alot quicker if we got 30knots of wind.
Never seen such a high tide followed by a tide so low that a steep sand bank formed bit it was flat and great fun sailing with Mark Jordan, Mark Baset ,Dion and Adam of course Greg. Greg congrats mate 1 second 40 knots broken.
tired 130km and 90% of it on a speed board.

My first time sailing there and I found it pretty challenging.Freezing wind too - wish I'd bought the winter wettie - got by with the leaky steamer + a 1mm rashie.
It was a bit protected in close so a bit light and hard to tell how strong it was in the middle. Rigged the 4.8m for c 20kts and the 95 for the dead areas in close with a 28cm fin I borrowed from Gabe.. 1st run was brown shorts weather..I ahevn't sailed out in chop for a while and was overboarded and overpowered and stacked the first gybe into the sail.. back in and rigged the 4.2m with 95..at first a little upderpowered in the lulls but better in the gusts but the board was mile too big! The others were on 72 -80? ltres and heavier than me.Surprised to get the 27kts + speed.. The weed bank in the middle was a little flatter at this stage. I wasn't game to go down to the other weed bank as i was a bit underpowered for working upwind in the sheletered bit and having trouble getting back in as it was.
Came in for lunch and the others had been down to the other weedbank for a decent sail ( I'd spent most of the time rigging etc grr). After lunch back out with the 78ltre with 18cm weedie and 4.2m.. Better but kept losing traction and sliding diagonally sideways when I got really powered up.Not sure if its my technique or the little fin.
FINALLY used my 3.8m + 78 and fun! Bit underpowered at times but great in the gusts..By now I was buggered.. I've been pushing myself to finishg a mural lately and finished it Sun before the drive up .It all caught up to ma and I was a zombie before I even went out today..
Gabe said it was choppier than usual and wind veering from SW - S. Mind you after seeing James pics of the chop at Canton I think Wallis was flat!
Mural.. it's finished now .. yay!
Great to meet the locals. Pity Chris was crook and couldn't sail.
Bit of a dead area in close although it did get some puffs. It probablt got more wind than this occasionally.
Out in the middle 20-25kts +
