A fun and relaxing afternoon sail checking out the part of Coodanup (closer to the shore) which I didn't get to on my exploration of the northern estuary two weeks ago.
Thanks to Fangman for the local knowledge.
A bit more wind and it could have been perfect.
Another top 5 alpha (gybes are improving!) and the hr is a second best for me. Could have been a PB if I had put my watch where I could see it!

3969 days ago Pelican Point, 135L/7.5m - Wanted to try the gear I was planning to use for LOC in strong conditions, and it was quite a handful. Probably should have downhauled it more. Seriously, if the wind picks up over 20knts, I'll be in trouble. I wish the forecast woudl improve, and I can rig up the 7m instead.

Maiden voyage for a small 85L F2 Sputnik that I bought with the intention of using as a high wind slalom/speed board. Very happy with today's initial test in the Pinnaroo chop - looking forward to trying it out in some nice flat water.

Thought I'd dust off my LOC gear before the race... it's seriously been a year since I last sailed it! iSonic 94, Ezzy 7m infinity, JP weedy 31 cm.
Did a big upwinder to the kite beach at Melville, then three tacks back to Peli. Sorted out the harness line position and Should be fine for the race.
Fastest session in over a year and a half, and it's only 27 knots. Hmmm. Only about ten sessions recorded since then as well. Young children have a lot to answer for!!!

3969 days ago 1 categories First time in about 3 months that I've had two sails to choose from and I was pretty sure I'd picked the wrong one... BUGGER!!
The wind died off as I hit the water. Slogged around for a bit before coming in and plugging in my biggest fin and backing off the rig tension a bit. It gradually built back up again and made for a nice session. I tried chasing a few naughties along the freeway but wasn't rigged for speed so stuggled to hold it down in the gusts. The Lofts are very easy to set up for light wind planning and enjoyable cruising but it limits the top end a lot.

Day 2 in Lano. Sailed out of the bay, and went out back a few times for some downwind action. I thought the breeze was similar to yesterday, but I was a bit overdone on the 135 + 8.4 combo, so I changed down to the 7.6 TR9 + M112 + 38 VSW. The smaller set-up was about right for the wind strength, but the swell out back was pretty big and there were some big lulls in the troughs between waves.
Got the combo tuned up pretty good. Attempted a few more runs out back, but there were some big sets steaming through and I chicken gybed a couple of times in the face of breaking waves
A good sesh, but a bit pedestrian after the excitement of the downwinder yesterday.
