Was going to head down to mandura but ran out of time so just went local, Peli Point was nuclear!!! took a while to get my gear tuned in and first run that it was all sweat my harness line snapped so spent 30 min mucking around with tht then decided to try for an hour. never tryied one before. was getting too tired in the end after being out for 3 hours in 25+ and dropped a few too many gybes.
awsome sesh and i am wreckked after holding onto the 5.9 all day.

3970 days ago Not a bad session, took some work to tune the 6.4 KA, even buggered the outhaul setting for most of the 1st hour couldnt work out why I was struggling up wind. Just a slight adjustment and the sail performed so much better Sail rotates nicely, took a hint from seabreeze, and moved the boom up. Yep thats a trick I didnt know with this sail, boom hight is critical. Too low and its crap.
Came in for a drink towards the end, shouldnt have stopped, as it buggered me when I went back out as the chop had increased somewhat and being off song and gumby footed, cought a rail and....... over the handle bars and busted a top battern.
Was real suprised how much this impacted the sails performance.. Absolutely tin fruited the sails performace, and on starboard, sounded like it was going to shred from the top down. Flagged the session then, as no stamina and long drive back to South Geraldton
But Liptons, thats a cool spot alright, flat water for speed and alpha, not that I tried any today, and fastest was on first run to get down into flat water.
Great to catch up with the Pinneroo team mates. Plus a few locals Alby Chris and Crasher.

A great team turnout at Liptons - we outnumbered the locals and the kiters.(Greg, Mark, JJ, David, Ian, Chris, Mike & me)
Not the perfect wind and tide but some good speeds and good fun to be had.
Top 5 2 sec, nm and 5X for me so can't complain.

3970 days ago 1 categories Nice session at Liptons. Great to see so many Pinnaroos and catch up with a few of the locals (It's been too long!). Shared the trip with a kiting friend who also had a good session.
A bit underdone early on, but great fun in the flat stuff all the same. When the wind started to boot in I went and plugged in the smaller fin and got my peaks.
Went for a Nm to back up JJ, didn't work out as mine has a gybe in it...

3970 days ago 1 categories Awesome first session at Liptons. I really struggled with my crappy old weedy. Anything over 32kts and I'd be better off plugging in an Arnotts Sao. The faster I go the looser it gets.
Unfortunatly the fin brought me undone in the end. It let go as I went into a gybe at the end of a bare away and I put a 12 inch tear in my sail. I thought I went over the top of the rig but obviously I didn't have enough altitude. Mental note, go higher when catapulting.
I only had 2 runs at the nm before I had to pull the pin because of my sail so pretty happy with the result. Could have gone faster for sure and I was a bit dirty I didnt get the chance.
Despite the torn sail and crappy fin it was a great day on the water and a good team turnout. I''l be back for sure.

Big Pinnas day at Liptons, great to see so many there.
A slow start till the wind filled in a bit, still holey on the inside run, much better over the other side.
Mistral 91 and CL weedy 24 a great combo today, even smoked upwind. Speed board might have been faster but the 91 is just so much fun.
Super as always to sail with Stroppo (thumbs up on every crossing), nice to catch up with Rod, Mitch, Alby and to meet Saltynuts.
Sorry about hassling for NM backup - somehow I didn't go nearly far enough so my attempt was pretty lame

Should really have rigged the 6.6 instead but had a lot of fun with the 7.3. Broke my boom early on and had to walk back, Anita kindly leant me a replacement so I could continue sailing.

A nice afternoon at Safety Bay and it was good to see Lee and Karl from Pinnaroo enjoying some nice runs up and down the pond.
The dreaded pipe was still there but managed to pass over it near the dredge. Lots of kiters and chop on the run but still a fun session.

Super sesh at Liptons, you know you're having fun when you come off the water with 44 mile on the clock and you didn't really want to stop
Hit the water around 3 on the 95 Mistral + 7.0 TR9 + 28 MRX weedy (thanks for the loan JJ ).
A bit underdone early on and I contemplated changing up, but the breeze seemed to be building.
Couldn't find any decent pressure in the weedy flats (3 out of 5 scoring 10-sec runs were on the other side at Pt Grey), so I spent more time on the other side of the estuary. I was also loving the powered up runs into the flat water and fully planing exits out of my gybes on the 95
Caught up with JJ late in my sesh and he encouraged me to go for a mile, so I gave it a crack. Breeze was a bit patchy, and I got nervous when I flew past Alby standing in shin-deep water 200m downwind of me. Holy crap how shallow is it?
Bum drag to stop and a long walk out confirmed it was pretty freakin shallow
After a few more runs (didn't really want to stop but it was getting late), I headed in after one of the best sessions I can remember. First session at Liptons...this place is sick
If this was my local I don't think I'd sail anywhere else!
Ps: radiator shat itself on the way home. 90 minute wait for RAC / tow truck ensued. Tow home to Oz Park = $190.
Finally home @ 9.15pm.
The best bit? I'm still smiling!!
