20-24kt? NE Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

4.8m Sailworks hucker , 78ltre Tabou pocket wave + 18cm makani freemove weedie

Well I got my PB on the first run! It said 31.7 something? The GPs went into another window so I couldn't see how I was going and I was sure I'd improve on that but I didn't . Still stoked! Not bad for a crappy old waveboard that a year ago I was going to sell because I couldn't get it  to plane..Smile. I got as larger fin + using larger sails and I've obviously improved  and now it's my favourite board!

Lots of yeehaas! today . I'm amazed noone heardme..Wink Never gone so fast in such flat water. What a buzz! Did a few killer gybes too ( amongst some pretty crap ones..). I really thought I'd get an alha for one of them.I'm trying to come back up onto a reach after a speed run and then gybe in the flat water.

I got one that felt superb - planed through and it felt like a knife going through butter in that smooth water.. ah heaven..Smile

Arms are aching and I stink of the smelley shit I fell in as I came in but I'm happy as a pig in ..? Peel st mud?Laughing

Great arvo at Peelie. Ancient seatrend 276, 6.6, MUF 24. Feel a bit of a wimp for not going harder & staying longfer but am still exhausted afetr the Formula  nationals.  Body was pretty second hand before today & now it even worse.

Jimmy's Beach, NSW, AU

Nice and windy up at hawks nest today. I started out with a 7 metre on my ray 102 but soon dropped down to a 6.5 . There were a few locals out which was nice. The tide was very low which made it a little gustier than usual and there was very little flat water to be had but it was a smoking north easterly at Jimmys beach which is always fun.

Plenty of wild life to dodge today as well. There were 3 penguins playing around up at the sand bar and I almost took one of them out. I also had to do a drastic course correction to avoid a sea turtle that was as big as a coffee table. It would have made a mess if I had hit that fella. At that point it occurred to me that there was a lot of shark food around so I called it a day lol.

Coal Point, NSW, AU

Exocet Cross 94, Mauisails TR5 5.5, 30cm fin - Wind NE 20 kts

Managed to get out for an after work sail.  Beautiful conditions, always good to get a 5.5 session!  Not powered up the whole time, and a big hole in wind over near the sand islands.  Great to just blast around on the swell.  top day.

Thanks everyone! Isn't it funny AJ.. 30kts seemed so out of reach and now I'm aiming for 35.Wink Yep I used to get excited if i got over 28kts now I'll have to set the GPS for 31kt alarm Laughing. I'll leave the PB"s for peel st and just have fun at Coal..

Your right Matt .Even though i felt like I was well and truly bearing off looking at my tracks I should be able to go off a fair bit more .. Bring on 33Kts +...I'll have to borrow a speed board one time ( but then I won't like the pocket anymore..Cry ).

I might have to get that 66ltre waveboard I was looking at just so I'll be more comfortable in stronger conditions with chop. Don't know how I used to go out in 25 -30kts + on the 95ltre!Surprised No wonder I got smashed!

Jimmys sounds wonderful Cluffy. The turtle must have been a buzz! Pity about the sharks although I was talking to a local last weekend and she said the girl who got bitten by a shark last year was wakeboarding in amongst all the bait fish and fell off ' into the sharks mouth".

Thanks Mark! Unfortunately I can't sail Fri.. today is it..grrCry I'll have to catch you at Canton one day but Peel is better for PB's..Hope you get a good day for it and some PB"s.

I made the mistake of telling my partner the water was shallow etc and now he is paranoid that I'll stack it and become a paraplegic..Anyone ever really had stacks like that? I know people do their shoulders in but I havenm't heard of anything worse?

Sue, shallow flat water is fun and fast but the risks of catapulting in shallow water are real and injury could be severe. Only sail where you can be sure your fin won't hit the bottom. At the least you risk going through the sail or snapping the boom.
