Melville Beach, WA, Patrik FRide 125, Turbo 7.5, CL38

Super fun session, what a great way to finish the weekend. Heaps of Pinnaroos in attendance, haven't seen that many of us in the one spot for a while. Packed up just in time as I got the first spots of rain on my windscreen leaving the carpark Tongue out Best speeds seemed to be on port tack. Had one huge long run of 2,2nm.

Melville, Kode 122, OD 6.5, Drake 34.  A taste of winter...  Nice to see so many Pinaroos at Melville.  Oh - the PBs were an unexpected surprise.

Good to catch up with a bunch of the crew and our new team mates.

First hour was a bit holey (about a 19) 2nd was fully lit but fun and a challenge. PB Hr for the Big gear.

Changed down to the 6.3 in anticipation but killed the wind. Briefly headed out on Lurch and got planing but quickly swapped back to the SX for a last bit of distance.

Melville Beach

Fun day, good to see so many Pinnas out, including Hooksey blasting out his first runs Cool

Rigged big and too lazy to change so a bit over-powered at times.

Used the 112 briefly but the 137 felt better with the big sail and a little faster.

The team seemed keen to go to Melville so I did too. Good to catch up with a bunch of teammates and also some Melville regulars I haven't seen in a while.

Cruisy but not speedy. Gear choice was right, although a bigger fin would have been useful.

Melville Beach, WA,AU Decided to give Melville a try instead of driving all the way to Mandurah

Started with an 8.6 overdrive and 112 Xfire, the wind increased and decided to change down to a 6.7 and 90 Xfire. just in time for the wind to back of againFrown

Fun late arvo sesh at Melville.

On the water @ 4.30 after helping a prospective buyer to rig my 7.0 TR5 (he bought it Smile).

Patchy breeze, but filled in a bit around dusk, and a I found a few nice squirts on the 135 Patrik + 8.4 TR8 + 44VSW combo.

Got totally maxed in a 25K squall for the peak speed, but I was too overpowered to really drop the hammer.  Slowy on the other hand...38K peak Cool

100l Patrick D, 7.5m Koncept and 40cm vector volt carbon.

Posted for Hooksey who was so excited about his first GPS session he forgot to turn off the unit for the drive home. The above results are after realspeed editing.

A really excellent first post. The hour would have been even better but he ran out of wind and stopped 3 minutes short.

Great work team, a nice boost up the ladder.

Huge distance and hr effort Lao, and nice backup Patrick - 5 jellybeans!

Congrats on the PB's GS - and you said you didn't think you had any...

I stopped early hoping I'd have a bit left in the tank for tomorrow but I'm feeling a bit sore now... out of match fitnessYell

Alan, so relieved to see you sailed at Melville. When I didn't see you there I was really worried you might be sailing at Coodanup by yourself.

Congrats on the PBs.

Pointy, I had an interesting moment this arvo when I saw someone who wasn't you sailing past with a sail that had your (our) sail number on it. I thought AUS 297, that's a familiar number, then I realised that is the number on my sail! (because I was using the sail I had bought from you that still has your number on it). Bit wierd to have three people on the water with the same sail no! Good thing we weren't in a race.

Just noticed I passed the 4000 km mark yesterday. I am possibly the sailor who has taken the longest to get to 4000!

Well done Hooksey on an excellent first session, and earning a jellybean on your first outing for the team. (That means you contributed to improving our team score for the month)

Excellent PBs Hooksey, especially the hour. Top results given the marginal wind and awkward chop. Cool

Welcome aboard Hooksey, ask me about that Aeron boom I bought of you when we are next on the water Surprised

Great PBs everyone, I was a bit too slack to get out and then got busy with WORK. had to happen some time I guess.

Anita - thx so much for posting for me. The file I received from Mark looked fine on my email but when downloading it the format changed and I could not upload it. I had heaps of fun 'chasing' the speed and I'm stoked abt my results. I was on a 100l Patrick D, 7.5m Koncept and 40cm vector volt carbon. Should have gone for a smaller fin with less drag. Look forward to next session!
