Exocet RS4 111, Mauisails TR8 7.6, Select 43 - Wind NE 15-18 kts
Top afternoon at Coal Point. Stacks of people out on the water and great to share the stoke with everyone. Good to see Greg back for his week off, glad that he got a good sail. Didnt get to catch up because he was too busy sailing to come in to shore haha. Gear felt great today, pretty solidly powered up in the gusts. Strangely the wind died right at the sand islands so just went back and forth across the bay.
Good fun drag racing with Hugh for a lap across to Swansea, looked close in speed but pretty sure he was going easy on me
Loving having the seabreezes back.

CA70 and 6.6m
A strange sort of day. I am sick of always sailing with the 7.6m sail, so today I rigged small and hoped it would pick up. I am clearly turning soft as Sue was out on her 7.5m. Still I was planing, so I was happy. The trouble with the smaller sail is that it made the board feel really big and slow. I came in to try a smaller fin (28 cm weedy) this made everything feel terrible, big slow and wobbly. After just a few runs I went back to the 46 cm slalom fin. For the last few runs of the day I took my Naish 95litre out, but couldn't really get it going.
So it was a day that nothing ever felt quite right, I was surprised to see a 30.78, which is a PB for this board, and acheived in 2 ft swell.

3663 days ago 10-18kts ENE - NE Coal Point, NSW, AU, I was going to chase flat water at peel st but didn't think it would come in. Didn't expect much at Coal but it was a fun sail.
7.5m Severne Overdrive, 115 Xcross + 38cms pointer ( caught weed occasionally).Started out very patchy but I was powered up enough to get through all but the worst lulls. Took a while to work up above the point and get some room to bear off.
Got a nice run back and felt fast but 24kts ..I wasn't having any hassles controlling the 7.5m but the guys were going with 6.6ms in the gusts so I changed down. 6.6m severne race sail. Much better combo! The wind had filled in a bit so fully powered in gusts and so much better pointing! Did in 2 tacks what had taken 5 before.. 2 bearaways back to the start. The last one I was pretty tired ( out 3 - 5.30 minus a bit) and wondered if I'd make it in one piece.Think thats the one I made the best speed on. Could have used the 95ltre when I changed down but too tired to bother .
Greg , Andrew, John , Gert , James , Hugh ,Scott + some others out.
