Tibor (18017km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Wind looked good but quite a bit patchy. Wouldnt have mattered if the water was smooth butit wasnt. Had a nice sail about with my little sonic90+overdrive 6.7 +Finworks 37
sboardcrazy (25098km): 5-25kts SSW Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Got to try the 'new' 7m OD + a 30cms weedie on the falcon 79ltre. Went out at first with the 20cm delta but very deep ( the usual 20cms areas were from knee to thigh deep) so later used a real weedie..mmm Not sure how I'd go handling the big sail on the 79 but no worries..underpowered at first and only got going upwind a bit in the gusts. Seemed to be trying to get upwind all day Only 2 bearaways both coming home for a sail change or finish. Got the big gear ready at one stage but it then kicked in. Had it on from 5-20kts so a good test. Loved having the deep weedie on and felt really safe going for it in the chop ..no real flat stuff today. have to buy it now Andrew as I ground the tip on the rocks off the point.. Started to kick in to 20kts so figured better get in and great run..Rigged 5m at the end but didn't really get any decent runs ( too buggered) still lovely and light. So got to try out 3 new toys in one day! Got heart palps once. Sat down and thought mm Dr said go to emergency and get tested..have to get someone to take me there or get an ambulance.. I'll see if they settle..They did ( got to them early ) and no hassles for the next few hours.. Rus , Tibor, Bruce, Milsy , Mick , Forthie ,Byron + a few others..Kiter in the flats when we first got there.... Oh no! Later he stayed in the chop off the launch area as getting photos taken.. Hope there don't get to be many of them..
Glad to get an ok sail after doing the 120km round trip yesterday for nothing..
Mick Saunders (12148km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU SE but mainly SW up to 18 knts. These winds kept the water fairly flat and made for nice sailing. Fanatic 110, 430 pointer, sailworks 7.1 m
Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU For the 37th time I forgot the GPS and had to come back & get it so I changed to the ancient seatrend as well as the delta was spin out city in the CASL62, water was so rough. Disapointing that after a few dud forecasts we finally get the advertised wind & it gusty as hell. 5.9, ancient seatrend, MUF24.
Well done Tibor & Sue, Byron was still out cranking out the miles when I left.
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU used every thing today. rs4 with tr9 7.6 and BP weed fin. rs2 , tr9 7.6 and 6.6 multiple fins and a litle time on the CA44. was not flat at all but good hit out in preperation for LG. was nice wind strength in the end with the RS2 and TR9 6.6 I used a BP weed speed 28 and a vector 23 both worked ok and got me just under 37. top speed was on the speed board. Used the BP 28 speed weed in the speed board and it felt great it was powerfull but stable in the chop that we had. first time on this fin. great to sail with everyone and happy to finaly get over 200km. thanks James for combining my tracks as GPS went flat had to charge it in the car for half an hr then go again.
rus13b (5109km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7m, 6.2m reflex, 98lt f2, 28- 24 weedys. gd sail dwn buff point wasnt super flat & the water level is up atm. it picked up after an hour & had to change dwn, seemed to pick as the day went. forgot me camel bak & was dying for a drink, only thing is its a long way bak to the beach out there.
