tailwind (7504km): Point Walter, WA, AU Full on session in some testing conditions, I was never really comfortable and the whole setup was just not right the FSW board with a race sail did not work, but it was good to get a bit closer to the 30Kt goal. I should have done a better NM but I could not keep the fin under control, I think half the NM run was done spinning out. But a great way to spend the arvo SR5 6.2 FSW95 26 weedy
JJ (25827km): Point Walter, Kiter's On the water at 12.30 - had a few epic NM runs with Mark, just a few board lengths apart the whole way. Some decent gusts to 30 knots but the NM run was just a little square and mostly too short. Super fun to have some real wind. Great to see lots of happy faces. Nice speed Damien! Saw Tailwind flying - well done on the PBs Mistral 91, Koncept 6.3, CL SpeedWeed 28

lao shi (41082km): Great workout along the Attadale foreshore. Went down early and it was a mill pond. Went for coffee and when we saw it boot at Rottnest it was game on. Rigged the repaired 6.3 (thanks to Jesper) and put some weight in the vest. By this time there were large dumping waves breaking on the shore! First run down to Melville had jumps, skips and more than a few clenches! Came back and put more weight and downhaul and the wind backed off. One all out run down to the shore at Melville with JJ had me puffing and blowing at the end. Amazing how quick the sailing fitness goes with the W word! Unfortunately it was too short!. Stuck in the mid to high 33s so came in, had a snack and changed to the 22cm MXR speed weed. Unfortunately the wind had backed off a bit but the fin felt so much better in the board. It was rock solid and a bit quicker. Hard to find nice runs to really go for it as the best sections were too square but watching 25 and others I was just too soft and not going for a big enough bear away through the chop! Speedy kicked my butt today all around. Considering moving the back straps forward again. Well done to Tailwind on the PBs and surviving the conditions. Loft Blade 6.3, M SL91, Choco 27 weed, MXR 22 weed speed.
GS (4113km): Melville - Spent too much time deciding whether to go home and get a smaller sail. After driving home and back, I rushed the riggin of a 5.2 and got it wrong. At least a a couple runs. IS101, CR5.2, Vector 32
Congrats on the PB Tailwind! |
