Light wind session with the mobsters and stray pinnas.A big first for me. Managed to hit a tree with my fin , This was made easier by the fact said tree was in the water about 50 m. on the far side of the channel.  I saw a bit of root stiicking up out the water and went right instead of left.Big mistake.Followed up with hitting a rock on my next run, this time with fin damage.

part from that a very pleasant session.

Tabou Rocket Wide 128L, NP RSR E6 7.8, Pepe weed fortysexy

Got down to Novara expecting the wind to do a runner when I got there, today was something strange as it didn't.

Dodged all the ALF's to get to the lauch point and ther was a lot of dodging going on.

The target for today was to attempt an hour, went ok apart from hitting one huge lull.

The ALF's weren't the only wildlife out there today sailed over a f'ken big ray I thunk which was way bigger than the board.

The body hurts as I haven't done an gour for a good six months.

Off on holiday tomorow so enjoy the wind whilst I'm gone.

First to arrive at S bend, wind farily light so chucked the 6.6 on the 65 with 21 cm 55ded big deltoid.

Alan, and fin arrived before I launched, they were followed by Fangy, Windxstasy, Basil, a gentleman I don't think I know, and SMS.

Tried to improve our hour, but wind was a bit to religous, bottoming out on a several gybes also didn't help, not to mention fin too small spinning out too much.

Had problematic results with both phones in the new ampix H20. for some reason they both burst into song with no input from me. The xperia wasn't too bad, it just played through the playlist as normal. But the Pixie was a pain, kept changing tracks over every bump and arm movement, it finally tirned the display off and went crazy, telling me I was doing over 40kts. When I turned the display back on it settled down for a while, but then burst into song again.

Also the GW52 reports I've used 99% of memory, so probably should have changed to 1hz, I'll check with the phones, that the start and finish points are the same. There may be a slight adjustment of ditance if the GW52 did run out of memory.

Top Ten Fangy Day, with Decrepit, Fin,Basil,Windxstasy, GS, AC1 and Shanno later on. A bit light on until mid arvo but super pleasant. Social engagements calling, will post more later :-)

Now its the morning after and I am finding 90 odd k's of throwing the QEII+ Koncept8.5 around is having a few after effects. Or maybe it was the pizza night afterwards....

In any case yesterday started well with the ceremonial trashing of the last Windows pc in the house. Top Ten Fangy Day already.

Capn Calm was already on water and had knocked a good session by the time I got down to Sbend. AC1 was in close pursuit and that pretty much summed up the day with regard to those two. I hardly saw either motionless for long. My plan was to stay away from Fin. The wind was too a bit too asthmatic initially for me to stay on the plane and thats when Fin comes and finds me and glides past with that smug smile on his dial. Sometimes he gives me a 'wave'. Its very annoying to have someone on your team who seems to plane effortlessly when there is no wind and then appear magically next to you when you have spent the last few minutes idly watching the crabs go about their business as you plod along like a glass bottom barge.

Early on the tide was high enough to get in on the flats a few times and so I had a couple of excellent mirror water runs. I probably should have put the camera on. Mirror water, blue sky and the odd stingray would have been a nice picture.

After a couple of hours I decided I wanted to do some rig modifications. I had resisted the temptation for a while because of the I didnt want to run the angry crab gauntlet near the shore, but eventually I the risk to toes was worth it. I came in, changed a couple of things, went back out, the wind picked up, I came back in, changed everthing back and went back out.No crabs or toes were harmed in the process. The only plus was that I have further refined my epileptic hopscotch through the shallows.

Afer a few more hours of throwing the big rig around, some fun little runs along and through the weedbanks, i decided to call it a day. In fact it ended as it had started, with AC1 and Capn Calm relentlessly gliding out the k's. Top Ten Fangy Day without a doubt.Laughing

Been there .Done that Firie Bob. Circa 40 years ago. In Queensland.

WE were doing siesmic survays for some oil mob during the major flooding that ocurred aroun the St George irritation area.

Fish were washed out of the natural river courses and were stranded.Due to the poor state of Queenslands public transport system they were unable to get back to the river and so perished. We found many dead fish when we were able to get back to work miles from the river ,isolated in shallow depressions.Lacking trailbikes we hit them with Toyotas, and kicked their carcases aside while planting geophones.

I'm from north Qld so know what you mean re fish after flooding, I remember one guy finding a huge barra in a puddle when the floods went down. Being born a bred in Perth, I have always been amazed with amount of water Qld can get in one go.

Nice Hr Elmo, enjoy your time off mate, see you soon Cool
