Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Didn't expect such a good wind. dashed up to Peelie with a sinking feeling but when I got to Peelie it was howling West. RS1, 6.6 17MUF. It was actually one of the nicest westerlies I have had, nicely cranked up but not viciously gusty or overpowering till it died & I came in on a gust while I could. Of course it then came back almost as strong & Muz went back out. I didn't as left phone at work & had to go back to get it, love a nice drive. Just me Muz & Phil.
Murray Towndrow (8653km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Best sail yet a Budgie 7.1 97 isonic realatively consistent for a westerly, last run of the day die out and went southeast had to walk back in.

Tibor (18017km): Wallis Lake, NSW, AU What an arfternoon at the ForsterSailing Club! As l arrived it was blowing nicely. I wished l had my 6.2 (which is on order). So l rigged the 7m which proved to be a bit big as Byron was happier on his 6.4m. Anyway, l went out and found it to be manageable . Never had a fast run as l wanted to settle a bit first but then l got really thirsty. Went for my bottle in my bumbag but couldn't find it . Bugger. I lost it so l came in and had a drink. Chatted for a minute then wanted to go out and give it to it. Would you believe that the rotten wind has sopped and never came back until I was just leaving . Hope for a better tomorrow
adamhatfield (2074km): Very hot, gusty westerly. Lots of lulls but the a fair few good runs. No sign of the shark though. NP 5.4 Atlas, Rocket 115 Teralba, NSW, AU
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Wallis Lake, NSW, AU RS2 exocet, maui tr11 6.6 bp 34 fully powered up quick sail in 25 plus NW wind running over the sand bar nice spot it was rough but
sboardcrazy (25098km): 15-30kts Nw Wallis Lakes sailing club, NSW, AU- arrived about 1.30 and it was 38 degrees + and the wind came up. Mark & Maree were out in about 15-20kts so I rigged my 6.4m Naish + 79ltre and 30cms weedie. Bryon rigged his 6.6m Kicked in as I hit the water - 25 gusting to c 30 kts odd so Bryon was having a ball while I was in survival mode. Went out turned around and hung on for grim death not game to think what could go wrong. There were flat bits amongst the waves at first but then as you bore off you were going over the backs of them. Few yeehaas! 28.10 on the gps which I think is a Pb for me in that size chop so happy with that. I should have taken a pic as it looked amazing especailly with polariods on - waves / chop on the sandbar with "mountains" in the distance. Rerigged the 5mOD with 25cms tribal. I knew it was windy as a branch came down ( only small) but it hit me in the head and drew blood. I had my back to the water and next thing the blowup double lounge the locals had been playing with blew past whacking me and wedged between the trunks of 2 cabbage tree palms... Tibor was rigging his 7m but went and gave it to them. Tibor could hardsly get the rig to the water it was blowing so hard and I thought he'd be annilated but luckily for him ( not for me ) it backed off. I had one nice cruisy run on the 5m then it was subplaning time with a teasing gust every now and then keeping me out . I really enjoyed it sailing in lovely clear water over the sandbar on the stinking hot day but what a waste of damn good wind.. 25cms tribal was good with the smaller 5m sail. Earlier I had to keep walking out for deeper water. Oh yeah did I mention that the minute we got the gear packed away it kicked back in with a lovely consistent c 25kts |
