1st run yee ahhhhh crashed and went through sail, patched up with tape from Rob, thank you  and continued runs down boat channel until

crash and through another panel, new sail required. if anyone has a 6.0m sail for sale please let me know, a fast one please!!! Still had loads of fun....

Wow what an absolute ball terrer, had an awesome sail, doing runs with big grins. Great day lots of wind, my gear felt perfect so no excusses. Got out early, my girly foot started to hurt. Great to see many sailors on the water with big grins.

I'm moving the love nest to Perth tomorrow and fly out to Cairns for a couple of weeks but will be back  Got to run I'm off to the circus tonight 

CA SL66, 22 Frangasteen Delta, 6.6 Koncept and boardies.

Sensational days windsurfing, Tabou Manta 54, TR9 6.3m, Delta Slalom 20/55 now 19, found a rock, good 20 to 25kts, 2 km of flat water, hard to ask for more.  My fastest NM, was never going to be an NM, was going for an alpha finished it there was a good gust so went with it, and kept getting gust after gust which is where I got my high 37kt display, but had to run upwind for last 250 t 300 metres, expect some big NM's today

WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Definately a top ten, perhaps even five? Fangy day, loads and loads of people enjoying it, most windsurfing vehicles I've seen in the street.

And so many smiles!!!!!

Got there early and rigged the 5.8 on the 48 with the 20cm 55deg weedy. First run new that was a mistake, just too much fin for today's conditions, had a massive tail walk and crash going for a porttack bear off. After a few runs I gave up and swapped to the 18cm 50deg and pulled a bit more downhaul and out haul on. That was much better I was in control until the last hour when I started to get a bit overpowered, also getting tired, but it was such good fun I had to keep going. Would have been easier if the NM run was a tad more downwind, I just had a bit too much sail pressure, and wanted to bear off a bit more to ease it, but the shore and shallow rocky bottom were just too close. So after my arms couldn't hang on any longer, I gave up.

Still not comfortable on the Electron .Was a bit over powerd. Good to see so many happy faces at Coodanup.

Took the wife breakfast in bed and then I did a runner ...this was going to be my last sail for a few weeks as Queensland is our Christmas destination...so was hoping for good things. At John St I snuck the Soobie nose-first under a tree and surveyed the scene. Good wind that was picking up, good turn-out, local, intrastate, interstate and global apparently.... packed out. Well, nearly. FirieBob hadn't noticed it was cold and was au naturel from the waist up again.... I think he needs an EEG...he can't be right.  16-18 knots steady when I hit the water and I decided that I was going to try to be a team player. Without specific instructions from the Capt'n, who was otherwise engaged on the water at high speed, I thought that the biggest help I could be, given that I'm neither the speediest nor the fittest nor any sort of aspiring gybemeister, was to make a point of not taking out any of our good high-speed talented sailors (ie everyone else in the team) in an on-water collision. Accordingly I left the steering wheel behind, welded the rudder amidships and decided to try for straightline downwind speed. Simple recipe...get upwind into clear air and uncharted waters and then have a huge yahoo downwind. Sort of simple instructions I can probably follow . Having got up to the top weed bank I de-weeded the Delta, shortened the starboard tack harness line, dialled both cojones into "attack mode" and, Baron von Richthofen-like, came down out of the sun at a velocity that seemed to me to be approaching light speed into the traffic on the congested alpha runway. The central computer collision-avoidance system was in overload trying to get me to weave a way through the traffic that involved minimal control on my part...ie situation normal....and it worked! So I just went round the circuit all afternoon and had a great time...certainly the fastest I've been ....the occasional tightening of the fundamental sphincter told me that.... and it all ended up happily as I returned to base before something terminal happened....which it surely was going to! Great afternoon....knackered, intact and a feeling of satisfaction.  Good to meet The Hammer and Toby. It really is great to be part of such a friendly team as the Mandurah Mob....thanks to all of you and to all the other regulars who sail at FangyLand and make this part of my life more fun! That was some Rumpy pumpy lumpy goodness today.

Got down to Novara around 1430 kept companyt with my old friend Mr Headache, thinking my eyes may be affected as well as the estuary was covered in whitecaps.

First run I had a pointer in but after hooking up snot on it decided to go the weedy, heaps better, not long runs today head wasn't up to it, so I sepnt time doing runs to the chanel marker getting my fill of lumpy and fluffing around with my newe (idiot proof) toy.

Twas great out there, had a ball it's been a while since I've done any bear aways, made interesting as flat was an optional extra not invested in today. very happy with the speeds, tried one run with the 54 manta at the end of the session but gave up as the head wasn't getting any better and there waas something clicking and grinding in my neck.

Wow, what a day! When I arrived I struggled to find a parking. Awesome to see so many people out at my local. Got on the water late, at about 3 PM. Everyone I spoke to saying what a great day, felt the pressure on a bit. Took my speed board out for the second time. Felt great and had a really good time. Would have been great if Someone else got a good hour, but I really wasn't expecting mine. Late evening the wind switched making the naughty almost square and runs to boundary island and back really good. About quarter to six decided to start the hour. Nice long runs, great fun.

Congrats to all who got PBs today, it was a great day for it. For everyone else, I hope it was still fun.

Fangysss - day 11 - spot 95%

Its all Daffy's fault, he got me excited 2days ago, I was going to comeback home yesterday anyway but in no rush.. then I saw the forecast, was looking good, and nothing for days..

I eat last night then just crashed, sooo tired

Left 5ish am, 10h driving, drop the van home at 14.30, quick run down to Mandurah, most people was coming out.. 16 smoething still a bit of wind left. I just wanted some easy flatish stuff arfter sharbay. really guys, its easy stuff feel like cheating . Surprised people did not get fastest speed!!! must be all that draaaag

I was going to do 5 laps, after 3 I was dead, I could not hold the boom anymore (not the wind just me), I push a 4th one in and was it.. where my lack of 5x10.

Was not going to post, but my NM give us an extra knt and 1 point.. and a top 5 pb  so why not.. had 2 35s and 2 34s

The obvious thing I notice when on water was the amount of drag by the weed... yes its pleasant but lot of draaag!

I think I will go visit JJ & 25 at Lipton next time, and my Alpha side is there too.

Fangies with a record mob - 24 cars I counted at one stage! Possibly one of the top Ten Fangiest Days ever. So many grins from ear to ear, you could feed off the stoke today. Huge fun mucking around. Vintage 1993 Missy Edge. Koncept 6.6 Fangyprototype 18.

For all you peeps that smashed a PB today - Congrats to you - I will post more later, I have to shoot off, Got a mob coming over for a feed - plus one clown who thinks he going to the circus.

I had just wiped the sleep out of my eyes and was doing the first snotgobbler taxi run when I saw the first of many sails streaking across the flats. The first of what ended up looking like a Sydney Hobart fleet. I had assumed it was Toby R doing his usual early morning raid.I got that wrong, it was Duffy following Captain's orders and whacking out some k’s.
Within minutes Shane, having driven up  from Albany that morning, was also hitting the water.

Back to the Fangy estate, take care of a few texts and emails, load up and then head down. I am greeted by a big mob of cars along John St. It turned out that at this point the place was only half full with a lot more sailors to follow.
Having a lot of peeps out for a sail may have a downside. I used up a good chunk of time just chatting to all on shore. The atmosphere was great already until a warning cry rippled through the camp.

Mineral had been sighted.

A collective groan followed by a rush to hide kit so he wouldn't point at it. Unfortunately Duffy, with the arrogance of youth was not concerned about the dark side of the Mineral Munt force. He learnt the hard way. For him a completely munted mast extension followed shortly thereafter.

 It sounds harsh but the rest of us sighed in relief. Its nice to escape the finger.

Time to rig and do stuff. The old Missy with the Koncept 6.6 is my fave combo and it didnt let me down. I am not sure if there were team orders but I ended up doing a Grumpynuts and doing whatever was blowing hair back at the time.
What an afternoon. There was always some one to watch putting the hammer down, throwing up rooster tails at the top end or just playing silly buggers with Toby.
 The sight of Wazzascudmissile ( with all the control of a scud missile) charging down, pedal to the metal, hoping like hell that everyone remembered to give way to starboard was a highlight.

Hardz with his mojo back in full flight, Grumpynuts blurring the line between blasting in a straight line and blasting around a corner, Capn Calm firing out of the top end weed bank on another nauti run, Hammer getting into it the weedy goodness for the first time kept the smile on the my dial.

 Sailing wise for me I was a little disappointed at my top speed. But my nauti runs made up for those. The best one started at the at the western end of the top weed bank close in shore coming out of a gybe in water that was too shallow for anything other than full planing. The run hugging the shoreline in the smooth fully lit was good in itself, but then it just kept on going and going and going. I felt like I was close to my top speed the whole way down. By the time I got to the Tugs Hole my back leg was jelly. But I knew straight away that that was going to be a pb nauti. What a buzz.

To see I got a pb alpha was a big surprise. I didn't try for one at all and a part of me wishes that I did. I might have finally got over the 25 barrier.
More silly buggers, more mucking around, more shielding the eyes from ‘Kens moon tan, more dodging Wazzascud and finally the arms said enough and I had to call it a day.

Only to find Le Escargot on shore rigging. I thought Shane was doing an epic number of miles with a return trip to Albany in one day. Le Escargot had driven his wagon down from Shark Bay to get some smooth. Just in case he thought he was there to have a relaxing sail we piled the pressure on him to do it for the team. Which he did. Nice work Sammy :-)

An excellent afternoon and so many happy faces. I cant believe that two years ago it probably would have been just me. Top Two Fangy Day.

good clean winds,flat water and a good crew of speed freaks to sail with.

had a narrow window to sail before a christmas function.

seriously considered blowing it off and continue to sail was having that much fun.

used a 102 rrd x fire with a 23 muf delta and a 7.0 severne R6..

note..does anyone out there want a 7.0 severne R3 also have a spare 430 redline mast to suit.
