Today was everything yesterday wasnt. Except the air is still cold. The water was smoothish, the skies blue and the wind a bit too sedate, until of course I was packing up. I had tried to squeeze in an hour before the school run. But I didn't really get my arse into gear quickly enough and was still flaffing around when I really should have been concentrating on maintaining momentum. Not that it mattered really as the breeze was not really good enough for a crack at an hour.

I had the 1995 Missy Screamer with nose job by Dr Decrepit, Koncept7.5 and Delta22 nailed in the slot. I had forgotten what a great board this is for gybing. As per usual forgot what I was out there for and in the end just did stuff that put a smile on the dial.Power slides at the top end to keep the inner bogan satisfied became the order of the day. All too quickly it was school bell time and I had to bail. At this point the breeze appeared to pick up nicely. I think the rest of my mob over at Liptons will post a nice session to start the month.

A great fun,but far too short session and defo a pleasant Top Ten Fangy day.Laughing

Enjoyable sail after work, even though very gusty and impossible to alpha.  Mistral Speed 95, TR9 6.3m Pepeweed 22/48

A great change from yesterday, not too hard keeping the board on the water, sun was out most of the time and I managed to go faster.

Wind was up and down though so I went with the 53cm board, so I could float back across the channel if necessary. plugged the 5.8 koncept in in case the wind came up as forecast, and went with the 24cm 42deg weedy as a compromise for chop weed and depth.

No real smooth but reasonably flat at Pt Grey, and catching one of those gusts in the flat was a lot of fun.

Joined over there by Strop, Firie and the Fin, Sailed over the other side with Wazza and Kaison on my way home. Salty thingo, Binny and Hardy hit the water as it was dying after I'd got back.

Some totally irresponsible person introduced Kaison to his pump up weed sprayer filled with water, never seen so many adults run from a 4yr old.

Liptons, Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Had the car booked in today, got there and he was very sorry no can do what about tomorrow, yaaa thanks mate see you later Cool

Got to Liptons and just a few of the old usual crowd, wind wasn't too exciting but Strop kept looking at the clouds explaining things too complicated for my old brain, I just kept saying yeh cool dude Wink

First up wind was very on and off, went over other side and did some serious fin dragging in the sand till I ground to a hault, had a bit of nut dunking between gusts, talked to Pepe and decided to back to go base for a wind conference, Strop was still polishing his fin and looking at clouds.

After watching the big fella and mighty Mike sail for awhile I hit the water again, not being keen on ploughing the sand banks I just went into happy mode and sailed where ever and bloody enjoying it. Later I saw said big man and little man going for it over the flats so me thinks tides coming up I'll join them, wrong plan as I was catching too much weed. The last straw was a 10K walk to deeper weed free water, well felt like it, after that I could hear happy hour being called so went in.

It was impressive watching the Big fella and little fella going for it and flying. Snags if you read this crap, it was FNQ mirror smooth mate Tongue out

It was a top 10 day for me, I just enjoyed going for it in the gusts down through the wind sweels, happy days again Cool The only downer was in a moment of madness I thought kiting looked cool, Strops got the photo EmbarassedCryLaughing

     Peel, Liptons,

A somewat manageble wind for me today even though it was a bit all over the place. Had some nice runs out at poin gray when the gusts came through

but overshot the bank in to the deep and found a hole in the wind and fell in with the sail all wrong but hooked onto anohter gust before too long.

Yes there is a wind shadow over there,.... ha.

Yep,.. a nice day, a bit cold for this time of year but nice, with some good company.  Smile

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Liptons...an unfamiliar venue for me. I got there late after lunch to find Firie, Fin, The Capt'n, Pepe and Stroppo already out in a gusting S-SSW wind but the tide was way less biblical than yesterday's effort. There were some Heineken-quaffing kiters ( well,l I think they were speaking Hollandese) clogging up the rigging-up area but otherwise there was more than adequate parking. Basil made a quick appearance and elected to to take the day off so I eventually rigged up the F2 Vento, Ezzy Lion 6.5 and 26 SpeedWeed.....and got flattened as the wind picked up significantly. I returned to base, where Hards, SpeedGirl and Kaison had materialised, to change down to the smaller Waihau but never got settled. I had trouble working upwind and all I did was have a good look around at depths and participate in a couple of random downwind yahoos with Stroppo. Well, I think it was Stroppo although the board and rider regularly flew past me at Warp speed so it was hard to see really. Best part of the afternoon was introducing Kaison to my Nylex garden sprayer bottleSmile ...we set him on a mission to dampen down Stroppo.....a willing pupil. Good afternoon but back to the schoolroom for me....many basics need work.

GPSvisulizer.com Bob.

There's a bit of adjusting to do.

Click on Google maps, then select google areial.

Units = Nautical

line width = 1

colourise by = speed

Here's my Pt Grey wanderings today.

And Fin I think you'd get more speed if you beared off in the other direction.

Stroppoo I think it's harsh lobbing that lot on the Manbras. FairieBob and Wazzacompletefail are both on secondment from FNQ. And before you ask, we traded them for a carton of USbox plastic slalom fins. The FNQ boys were happy, but I reckon we have ripped ourselves off.... Damn I just scrolled up by mistake and my screen broke 😱

Of course, I now very much regret asking Stroppo to help me out of my evening gown. I was taught by my Scottish grandfather to be thrifty. Not like the rental cars but like...be frugal.  I was just getting even wear out of the wettie as it was looking a bit faded on the outside.  A couple of kiters looked quite interested Tongue out but looking at the photo it seems like Firie might have taken the heat off me a bit. I think it's the ankle. He's a good mate.

The Capt'n had an impressive turn of speed on land too  when Kaison lined him up with the water cannon.

Pepe you made my wife cry, with laughter, you coastal guys are so cruel CryLaughing

Wazza and rubbers, good one Fang. I thought visiting the west I'd be surrounded by awesome speed sailors but I'm surrounded by F'n comedians, loving it Laughing
