Melville Beach, WA, AU

First mistake ,got out early hoping to put down a few k's but got smacked pretty hard with the 7.8 and i107 and decided to change down to the smaller gear (mistake 2). Wind chose to be difficult and really quite gusty. the small board and sail never quite got to the good gust but as always, good to get out on a sunny day.

Nice steady wind at Peli point. Despite being stung by a bee while rigging it turned out the be a pleasant day. Did long runs across the river and got airborn a few times over the chop. Surprised with the NM PB. Cool

Melville Beach, WA, AU 85 Sonic, 5.4 Koncept, 26 Choco weedy Very gusty wind 10 - 25 knots. Mostly 18 -20

I decided to get the old Sonic 85 out of mothballs today. Most people seemed to be struggling this afternoon but I had fun, despite the gustiness and twinges from joints that I strained at Safety Bay last week, I mostly practiced gybes, although it was hard to find wind that lasted for 500m. I did the best planing gybes I have done in ages but more work is required.  Never the less, my best alpha since February, and an alpha PB for the river I think, and also for the 85 Sonic. Time for some estuary sessions I think. I threw in a few speed runs when a strong gust came along that was too much for gybing.

It was good to catch up with Ricey, Cannonball and Flatchat, and ex-pinnaroo Geoff.

Safety Bay, WA, AU

Only just enough water to cruise over the flat stuff. Wind was promising early on but didnt quite deliver enough power for the 6.2. Same old story, should have rigged bigger. Pretty nice though, Its a whole different view out there with polarised sunniesCool

Some good looking gusts among the holes.

Thought I would try the 80L Xfire with 5.8 Koncept, but with so many holes it was a wallowing watse of time.

Tried the 105 Rocket, but the wind was dropping and could not find any sustained gusts even thoiugh others were having some success.

Ah well, I will appreciate a consistent wind when I next see it.

Good to see Anita making better use of the wind. Saw Tim wallowing but suspect he had some fair runs as well.

Squeezed in a little session after work, little gusty and shifty but loads of fun! Saw a little ramp and hit it hard got some good air time followed by a very quick stop and crash, Greg gave it 10/10 hahaha. Nothing broken and lots of fun had!

Ken, I was wondering where you were today. Melville was gusty as, so you made the right choice to go to Peli.

Congratulations on another PB! Good 2 sec also. Not far off 30 knots.

Yeh i decided to check out Peli point for a change. I really would like to improve NM by a few more knots. 21 is pretty ordinary haha. BTW I think i spotted Vincent head out as I left.

and the PBs keep on coming... Well done on the PB distance Ben, especially considering you had limited time. Another top 5 alpha has earned you a jellybean too. You guys are going to keep me busy reporting on all these PBs!
