Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Not the best but not the worst arvo at Peel st. Developed some very big holes and patches of not much wind

Still.. good to be out there with the guys and girl!.

Used the old Sonic 25 weedie and 7m Severne race

Mistral Speed and Severne 7.0. Fun light wind sail down at Budgie. Some sections of pure glass, unfortunately the wind didn't deliver. My old combination of FF79 and 6.6m would have been a complete failure today, but the mistral with 7.0 was great.

I loaned Alwyn a GPS today here are his tracks and results. Easily the fastest guy in the world over 80 and it was a very light day.

5-15kts ENE - NE Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

 7m OD - 89ltre Falcon - 19 delta

7m OD -115xcross - 29cms weedie

Probably the worst sail I've had at Budgy for a long time.

I rigged for the forecast rather than the actual wind Undecided.

Because I don't have a fast large board I tend to stick with the 89ltre when I should be on something bigger..

Spent the first hr working up to above the pole ready for it when it came in. This was hard work as I was off the plane a lot and never in the rear strap. Didn't try any bearaways.as it was too hard to make up ground with that combo.

I finally decided it was too much hard work with that combo and went and got the big board and a decent fin.

Freeriding fun! Smile .Off the plane a lot but by now it had turned more NNE and there was a  decent patch of wind off the point out in the chop. Would have loved to go right over the other side but even out away from the point a bit it was too sheltered.

Some lovely runs in the stronger patches and it was great to trust the fin in the chop.  The 38cm would have been better but I thought I might go into the flats ( I didn't). Only issue was the sail boom cam wouldn't pop in the light winds and even bashing it with my hand didn't help. ( Probably why I felt I wasn't going properly).

Went for some distance but it was getting too patchy so came in. Sounds like it must have come back in after I derigged. Would have been a good session for the 7.8m - 115.

Oh well it wasn't really the day for it but  I got some distance Smile

Al borrowed Andrews GPS - Pity he didn't have a decent day for it. he was flying last 20kt day - I reckon he could get 30kts in the right conditions!

I thought Andrew would have hated it..must have come in later Wink

Good speed Andrew. I thought you would have hated it as you were on the same gear as me and weigh more..

obviously a better sailor ..It looks like it must  may have  come good later which would have been fun.

Sue, My new Mistral 95 litre and 7.0 were great, underpowered for sure, but enough wind for plenty of fun bareaways.
