First sail after a long break.
I got down to the river just after 7am and Boz was already out there, the wind kind of dropped off a bit then slowly pick up.
Very choppy and super gusty but great to be back on the water.
Never realy got comfortable with the sail or board, tried a few things but it was probably the operator more than anything.

Great to be back at Fangys, I had a really good day there today Just a handful of us there too.
The fastest board was the 112. Had a go on the F2 Missile but i think it needed more wind.
Glad i got to play in your backyard Fangy.

A very gusty day which made it hard to know what to rig. It seemed pretty windy so I took all the big gear out of the car again, but when I arrived at Melville most people were coming in and the wind was light. Back home to pick up the big gear. It gave me an excuse to use the Tribal fin I had just collected from Chris, and it worked well with the 111 6.2 combo, which I what I bought it for.
The numbers don't show it but I did a few planing gybes I was happy with today. I am not sure if it was the new fin, the extra wind, or using a sail smaller than 7.5 for the first time in a month, but the gybes seemed much easier and were much smoother. The sail rotated beautfully. I think I completed all my tacks too. The smaller sail definitely helped.
It was good to catch up with lots of the team down at the river, some of whom were having their first sail in a long time.
The only downside was the extra wind showed how unfit I have become. I hope to be able to work on that regularly!

Started the day at Melville with Tailwind, very gusty conditions and decided to head towads coodanup. Now I know why there is a toll to be paid at Fangys such a great place to sail and blast around. The challange of the old boards was fun, good to see a vintage mistral and it was quicker than the trusty flex machine. Lunny was on Fire big congrats, good speeds for the water conditions today.
Fangy was a true gentleman and guided me to places I should sail and where not to. Seems it fell on deaf ears as I came to a screaching stop on the far side of the bay in shallow water. All good no damage and continued sailing,
Fangy thanks for allowing the Pinnas to share your backyard, next time i'll have to bring the blow torch down to fine tune the rocker line on the tiga, I'm sure i'll get another couple of knots out of the old girl.

My first sail in 6 weeks so feeling quite rusty and definately not windsurfing fit. Got down yo Melville and realised I was going to need some bigger gear. Went back home, picked up the i107 and a 7m sail. Tried to turn on the GW60 gps - No sign of life. I also had the GW52 but that hadn't been charged since mid Jan. Luckily it had enough juice to record the session. So out I went on the 107 and 7m. Very gusty and choppy outside but great to be back on the water. Also tried the i87 for the last hour, when the wind seemed to pickup (2s on this board) but was really hard work with the short gust. Might try to give this board more fin next time as it seemed slow to get going. Good crowd out today and quite a social sail. Lets hope for more weekend wind!!

A fun day of sailing with the team. The strongest gusts were before lunch and weakened slightly in the afternoon. Felt powered up on the 5.5 but was grovelling a bit when the wind dropped off.
I was unlucky to hit a cormorant getting onto the plane from Dalkeith. At first I thought I had hit a buoy as it stopped me in my tracks and sent me flying. looked back and saw it surface and swim away. Glad it was still alive but hope it wasnt too injured.

Good to see Ken, Tim, Ricey and Alan out there making the most of the conditions.
I made the mistake of sailing to point Walter to search for some flat water. The water was flat there due to a complete lack of wind. Should have stayed at Melville trying to pick the lucky gusts in the shallows.

Gusty but fun. Happy to have just made 30 knot 2 sec. Would have tried the 80L board for more speed but for the thought of sinking in the lulls.
Good to see Tim, Alan and Anita
