Jase (3183km):
2638 days ago Lucky Bay. I got in early and had the best of it I think. Wind got really shifty, gusty as the day wore on and certainly strengthened. I was well overpowered towards the end and after a couple of slam downs spin out stacks called it quits. Anita, your new board looks the goods, and smokes on the water, I'm well jealous. Cannot wait for summer!! I reckon I can almost pack away the steamer.

Funny how that setup feels draggy compared to flying on the foil, and all that noise of the board slap.
Nice to have some decent wind again. Low tide with some glassy patches.

Gusty but quite pleasant. Not the strong storm I expected.

Great that Anita likes her new Manta board. Great to see Jason pulling off some really good tacks and gybes. Nice to see Boz and Geoff.

Melville with most of the likely charaters sailing today in very gusty conditions. Tried something differant pointer on the AB, yep the board gets up and on the fin when the wind is there. Got a lucky gust up near the shallow post bearing away North but then the wind started to shut down as can be seen by the 5x10. Was fun getting wet but bloody cold got too many holes in the wetsuite to keep me warm bring on summer so I can trash the winter wetsuit

First test sail of my new Manta (Thanks Nigel). I thought about going to Coodanup but decided Melville would be easier for adjusting footstraps etc. As it turned out, the footstraps I put on and adjusted in my loungeroom last night were just right! I am sure a bit more tuning of the board will help with speeds, and a lot more fitness will come in handy. The board flies and feels so comfy over chop. I was doing 27 knots across the wind. I had to abandon one downwind run because I was about to spear Ricey if I had continued. I felt I could have gone downwind over the chop later but the wind had picked up and I didn't want to risk a catapult and a nose ding on the first sail. I haven't built up my tolerance for speed yet. Looking forward to a bit more fitness and some really flat water...
Hardie, I have discovered your speed secret. It's the 54 Manta. I am confident this will quickly become my favourite board. I have to get better at getting my weight forward to gybe it effectively though.
It was great to see some sunshine and a good turnout of Pinnaroos. Well done, team!
