Bayside slalom racing. The new sail felt great, but the party barge was a bit of a handfull as the wind built to 20kts for the second group of three races. I'm really looking forward to my 112 coming back from repair.
After misjudging the start badly in the first race (early by at least 10 sec) I slowly improved with each race. I didn't drop a gybe and was making up positions on each turn, but only to be run down in a straight line. I got brave in the 5th race and tried to put the hammer down on the last leg after passing Clive on the turn. I seemed to be holding him off, untill a combination of large mogul and decent gust, the wind got under the party barge and I was rag dolled, tweeking my shoulder in the process. I gingerly sailed on to the finish line and bailed the last race.
Apart from the off, it was a great afternoon with a good crew. The battle stories, sodas and sanga sandwiches topped off a great afternoon.
