2589 days ago Sunny, windy, warm (12 C) at the Kennedy Slicks. RB 6.3/Falcon 99/WS38 felt to big, XFire 90/WS31 hit the sweet spot. Only 4 runs on this combo, then I waited a while to see if Nina would get back onto the board when the wind picked up to 37 mph averages, 46 mph gusts. She made it back to shore after about 20 minutes. I tried her 5.0, but the wind had dropped again. Tried to go for more runs on the 6.3, but the wind switched to W: side-off, super gusty, and mostly too weak to plane. Made it back to shore with some u-boat sailing and a bit of swimming. In hindsight, the 5.6 would have been good enough for most of the session, and perfect when the wind picked up. Still happy to get a warm day of sailing and a spot PB.

2589 days ago Kennedy Slicks, Cape Cod. RB 5.0, Falcon 89. Very choppy for the first 400 m from shore. Lots of weed islands on the water, had to switch to a weed fin. Took a while to get used to the fat boom, my arms did not like the whole thing much. Just as I was getting some control, the wind picked up with sustained gusts of 46 mph. Run back in took 12 minutes, but felt much longer, and included 4 water starts. Most of the time I was in the water, waiting for the wind to drop down so I could get back on the board without having the sail ripped out of my hands.
Really looking forward to Corpus Christi with its warm and shallow water!

Two scary sessions today! First one all alone. I don't like to sail alone, especially when it is that windy and way out there! At least the wind was from the right direction (W) and strong gusting to 35+! Air temps in high 50's. All good, but it didn't last for long. The wind dropped to the point that i couldn't plane and the tide was going out quickly. Decided to head back and rig bigger........that was a wrong call.
For the second session I rigged 6.3 and it turned out to be way too much! It became a survival session, but at least this time there were two other sailors on the water. The wind swang more to N and become wicked gusty! The gust had to be over 40kts.
board: iSonic 94
