Bit of wind today decided to try some lumpy goodness and a run over to Claudesville from Novara, in hindsight a bit of preperation cold have been done beforehand to make things easier on myself.
First time sailing the board with a pointer in anger, first time sailing the board wearing clown shoes, First time on the board in some decent chop.
My first run I went right accross to the ski zone, unfortunately, the mast base was about 15-20mm to far forward so got a bit of brain damage bashing through the chop and OOOOOHHHHH what chop there was with a nice tide racing in, well over waist high and F'ken junky,
The clown shoes and looser foostraps had me with rear foot cramps 3/4 the way accross in both directions, the run back was way easier as it was a bit down wind and I could pick the lines.
Did a couple of shorter tuning runs where I found out a better mast foot setting.
Nice to get some lumpy goodness, looking accross the bay Liption probably would have been a better choice but the lumpy got me.
Thank f**k 2017 is almost over, that was a crap one.
Happy cold beers everyone

2519 days ago Light winder for the gear I had Mistral Speed 95/55 TR16 6.3m Pepeweed 20/48. Got 36.3 on the dial and was nicely doplered. Just on the plane most of the time, with a few squirts in the gusts. What a fantastic year of windsurfing for me personally and the team, well done everyone, we had great winds all year, we were highly motivated, committed, and had many contributers across all categories. You cant't fluke winning the GPSTC its a fabulous achievement, but you can be an unlucky team when the winds don't cooperate in your region.
Here's to a fabulous 2018 year of windsurfing for everyone in the GPSTC

2519 days ago 1 categories The last chance gamble, rig hoping the forecast is going to be somewhere near right.
Forecast said similar conditions to big Thursday, so rigged for Hardie's North Liptons - Ward Pt run.
Wacked the 50d 18cm starboard assy into the 43 with the 5.8 koncept.
Ironically my fastest two 2s runs was at Thursday's south liptons, a port run, the opposite to what the fin was designed for! Had one going to ward pt and one coming back. But my fastest 10s run was at Pt Grey, 2nd fastest was back at Liptons. So looks like Hardie is right about Pt Grey being better for 10s
Not sure what to make of that?
Hindsight says I should have used the 6.2 on the 48, and probably the 19cm symetric fin and stayed at S Liptons. The 43 was hard work in the frequent lulls, the 48 would have been more fun, and with the 6.2 probably no slower. That's what comes of gambles I guess.
Didn't make the 36.6 5x10 I wanted but did crack 43k before the new year.

2519 days ago In the weed at Fangys, WA,
A very pleasant arvo spent on the water in the wind. Nice way to end the year, just darting about.
Had the F2 SX-R 58, Ka kon5.8 and El60/20cm weedy, the board was wide enough to pull of a few
dance steps,,, but the deck was a bit slippy,,,, DOh,!!
BASIL !!!,,, whats going on, faster than me,,, again, I was only expecting an alpha PB from you,,, well done,
