Murray Towndrow (8653km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU After such jubilation, relaity has come crashing home with a 40.3 on the dial reducing and eluding me of the magical 40knt club for another time. quick early sail, fanatic 56 speed, 6.3 vapor 18 delta xt

Ant-man (13419km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. 5.7 North Warp (thanks Greg K) 79 Falcon then Carbon Art Speed Board. Would have love to sail longer but arms strted cramping, went out too early, before the wind really kicked in. Awesome session though. Heaps out. Byron the machine just keeps going, Walshy looking really fast, well done Andy on the PB
Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Probably hit the sweet spot for an old bugger, not too strong & came in before it really ripped in. CA SP44, 5.5, 16 MUF
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU S2 venom 6.6 and 5.7, CA44 board, delt 17 and 16. what a day so many people doing PB and heaps over 40 for the first time just fantastic. so happy for everyone. It was a bit rough when the wind got up so realy could have had much higher speeds but just scary to rough. stoked with the alpha had heaps high 26 and one over 27 many way better than that but out of the 50m. very sore and tired 205km on a speed board.
Steve Walsh (4027km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - North Warp 6.2m, Fanatic Falcon 52.5

James Farley (12722km): Valentine, NSW, AU Exocet Cross 94, Gaastra Pulse 5.7 - Wind SSW 15-25 Only had a short window to get out today and spent too much time chatting on the shore and not enough sailing. Had a couple of runs with Mick, Steve Mac and my old mate Tim Ford, who was checking out his new home waters after moving up from Syd. Well done to everyone at Budgy today.
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Couldn't get down early due to a Mountain Biking commitment. Had to park a long way up the road as the street was chockers. Rigged 6.3 and 46cm speed board and my new MUF XT50 14cm fin. Headed out and did 10 or so downwind runs I was getting speeds from 35-38kts, just couldn't seem to line up a gust. Pulled up next to Byron and he offered me a go on his rig. Extremely generous in 30 knot+ conditions. I was on his board (which I have never sailed before) for 66 seconds, most of this time was taken trying to get started and get my feet in the straps. I got to the flatish area and headed off the wind with as much courage as I could muster. After a brief period of warp speed I applied the brakes and dismounted. I pretty well knew that was the fastest I had ever gone. Sure enough I was looking at Number "4"s where they has never been before on my GPS. Couldn't bring myself to continue sailing so headed in for lunch and some celebrations. Changed down to 5.5 after lunch. The wind was starting to get really serious. Managed a peak of 40 on my own gear. Then saw Mick Kay get his first 40 as well. It was all a bit too much so we both called it a day.
sboardcrazy (25098km): 15-26kts then 25-39kts + SSW Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 6.2m Od - 80ltre isonic - 16cm kestrel then 5mOD - 50ltre isonic spoeedboard Well I can't say I enjoyed today ( other than a few bearaways) ..I'm feeling an old weakling... Rigged the 6.2m OD - iso80 ( 1st go) - 16cm kestrel.. VERY shallow...I should have gybed in the shallows more although even going ok you'd end up almost on the bottom. I kept stopping and turning the board and it was so shallow the only way to start was lie on my back in 17cm of water and come up in the straps and harness..If I didn't get straight into the harness and my weight on the boom I'd be on the bottom. Bit dicey hooking in as you came up as at times even then the fin would be hopping along the bottom and I was very powered with the 6.2m so I could have ended up over the front.. ( Byron was going fast with his 6.6m).. After 1/2hr of starting like that my arms were like sphagetti and I was getting frustrated as I wasn't getting in a good possy for any bearaways. One got 31.99kts..The guys were flying I need a mentor! I didn't hook in on the way across the channel as i knew the kestrel would let go but half way over my arms gave up so I fell in and had to start again..Talking to Frothie later and he said he heard a F! and was trying to see where I was as he was coming across behind me sliding sideways.. Now that would have scared me! rigged the 5.7m and 80 to go back out ..standing in the water I decided it had come in again and I was over being overpowered so I went and rigged the 5m with the 50 ltre isonic speedboard.. Well it had kicked in again and was really strong..must have 26-30kts + ( 35kts +?)..I was having trouble walking upwind in the shallows as the board kept being flipped over by the wind. Only did 2 bearaways with the speedboard..I had to wait for a lull to start..I only did one gybe on the speedboard..forgot it was 46cm wide and out of habit tried to do a step gybe..splat. I'll have to get back into strap to strap ones... 1st bearaway was scarily powered and pufferfish face all the way down..I didn't trust the fin and was thinking if I copped on of the big gusts I'd go through the sail..anyway it was exhilarating and I saw 34.73kts on the dial ( my pb is 34.64kts on the 79falcon)..I knew it would be downgraded..Looks like I've equaled my PB.. I haven't been over 34.1kts since Jan 2017..walked / worked my way up for one more run but took off in a bit more of a lull and never got enough wind ( 32+kts)..That's the first time I've ever got a decent speed on the spedboard and I haven't used it for about a year..Bugger. .002 off a pb.. Decided it was getting dangerously strong ( even the 3.8m would have had me hanging on) so I did a long bearaway to east of Brandon lane and put the gear ashore there and walked back..I knew I'd get splattered trying to get across the 2' chop in the channel mega overpwoered with a 16cm fin that would spinout..Good choice.. The guys were going great and Byron was whooping so it must have been strong.. Matt went out later with a 5.5m and was getting splattered ..That's strong!! The iso 80 was well behaved and easy to sail in those conditions although I wish I had a 16cm FF..
