Victoria Point, QLD, AU

Up n down sail, slow to begin with but filled in nicely. Think I saw Martin W out there late (when the wind was pretty good as I came in). Pretty enjoyable sail!

Gear: Futura 104L, Severne Gator 6m, 35 BP fin

How nice was it to be on a speed board blasting down a speed run all day.

Gr8 catching up with some more mates.

Tried a Kestrel18 in the Patrik but I couldn't keep it in a straight line so came in and wacked it in the JP and it was good.

Bit choppier than yesterday but still unreal for me.

Mistral Speed 55 (95L), BP WS 28cm. Neilpryde EVO5 5.8m. Well what can I say. It's my first time on the water in a year (not this year I mean 12 months ago). I'm so far out of shape could only manage an hour. Seems to be something wrong with my hands in the end as they wouldn't grip the boom any longer! It was a bit light on at first but figured it would fill in more so took the safe option and rigged the 5.8m due to lack of fitness. Was almost out of breath before making the water. Man do I need to do this more often.

Anyway Greg was already out there on a 6m so was a bit nervous about sail size. Was too small at the start and struggled for a while but it slowly built to the point I had some screaming upwind runs lit up. Didn't need any more wind at that point. Did a run way over to Coochie but that was a mistake as there were terrible triangle shaped waves everywhere. Was trying to keep the board on the water at that point so didn't do it again. Tried to put the hammer down but spun out and scared myself so just cruised back instead.

Tide was dropping rapidly at VP and found some smoother water in the shallows for a couple runs but was out of fitness by this stage and didn't want to find the botom so headed in. Was a good 20-25 knots now with some bullets about 30knots making me back off in the rough water.

Must say I'm happy enough with my numbers for not windsurfing in 12 months and in the rough water that is Viccy Point. Would lover to try some smooth stuff some time. Sorry I missed you Greg. I tried waving once but our paths never crossed.

Hope to catch up with you all sooner this year.

Mistral 112, KARace 6.3, Tribal 34

Slightly less wind and more gusty than yesterday, so I used the same sail, but picked the bigger board to glide through the lulls. It was a good choice. Another good sail with the Goldie crew

Thanks everyone I sure did pick a good time with plenty of wind so far.

Best thing about it here is there is no tide to worry about you just go when its windy.

Been very cool for this old bloke from up north.
