James Farley (12722km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Exocet RS4, TR8 7.0, Delta 24 JP 84, TR8 7.0, Delta 19 Great day at budgie. Good to see everyone, even dezza and keef from down south. 95% of the time on RS4. Tried the little slalom/speed board and had one nice 36.1 run but peak speed was on the bigger board. Really pleased with the PB, was stuck at 34.6 for a few years. Thanks for the kind words everyone
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU F2 Missile then Isonic 90 both with 6.3m. Patchy wind not as strong as advertised
mick13B (2059km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU isonic 86 6 hsm best i could do till knee gave out off to the docs i go bugger hopefully some aspro will fix it
Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Nice day, waited till the rain cleared up and may have missed some of the better wind. RS2, 6.6 MUF16, fully lit so thought speed board a good idea but the wind dropped & never as strong again. At least I had a nice fall, hit bottom on last gybe, clue end of boom stuck in the mud so the boom stood up so I thought, "why not slam this with my chest & try to really dig the boom into the mud". Mission accomplished. Unfortunately the life jacket dulled the impact so I was unable to contribute to the income of the medical profession. Bugger!
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU exocet RS2, s2 venom 6.3, BP kestral 18 5hrs sleep 150km nice way to spend the day before going to work I slept well last night in bed 1 30 am. wind just wasnt enough but good day and heaps out with some travelers from far and wide joining us.
Tibor (18017km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Very pleasant saiing with the speed board though not a descent gust for me.. used the 51cm peed with 6,2 and 15 cm fin
sboardcrazy (25098km): 20-25kt SSE ( more like 25-30 by Budgy standrards ) Lake George, SA, 5.7mOD - iso80 - 38BP50weedspeed then 25cm BP 50 ( spun out) so 23gun which held but I didn't quite trust it. 1 run iso 50ltre with 5m and 23cm gun..perfect! Same launch. I really wanted comofrtably powered day todY so I could try for an hr or do some alphas..nah..Rigged the 5.7m OD..Once again it wouldn't rotate .I didn't think it had any spacers in but it did so I removed them and it rotates beautifully I found today pretty scary. I haven't sailed the isonic in strong winds and any chop and I didn't know how it would go. At first I got it together and it was great but as it picked up the board wanted to tailwalk in the gusts so I tried the smaller fins which worked for a bit but it was still scarily too big in tthe gusts out in tthe middle. A bit more east in it today so you had to go through the weedless bit in the middle. I just need to get confident..I didn't stack it or lose it .. I didn't do many gybes as i was too overpowered.Decided time to get the speedboard out..opened the bag and I'd packed my 68ltre waveboard instead ofthe speedboard..ARGH!!!! Luckily Mal loaned me his.. Got 33+kts on the isonic then only one run on the speed board. for a similar speed.Went into the gybe and thought ok strap to strap..Roared in flipped the trig but I'd forgotten to get my other foot out of the strap ..dur... so off the back still in the straps..I wasn't at a good angle for the bearaway so i think it could have been lot better if I was. Boy the chop looked a lot smaller wwith the iso 50..It just ate it up and i was really confident..I just need to get onto the speed board above 23kts of wind.. Mmm may have to get my board couriered down unless someone coming past can bring it down? I can proabably arrange for it to be dleivered to you... Heaps out including Frothie..think his small board was a tad big.. Tomorrow I'll go out earlier.. I just want enough wind to be comfortable so i can try for an hr or some alphas..
