Safety Bay, WA, AU

Fun session at Safety Bay.  Pretty consistent around 20-25K, and well powered on the 90 Gladiator + 7.0 TR9 + 27 Tribal WS combo.

More pressure on the bearaways would've been nice, I was never really lit.

The mile was fun.  The back end was quicker, last 800m I was averaging over 31K, so I needed to go further.

The breeze was still building when I got off the water at 3:30, and looks like it booted a bit more after 5, so a shame I couldn't stick around, but still a really fun couple of hours sailing.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

A fun sail with Tim this afternoon. Some good gusts and fast speeds from others (Tim for sure). Used a 25 fin on the 88 Manta for the first time. Plenty of spinout in the chop. 29s about right I think.  Next time.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

A rather short sail after breaking the rope on the boom head clamp. Big thanks to Woody who sailed back to the car and brought back some tools and rope. Determined that this session wouldn't be a total loss, I replaced the temporary fix with a 'used' downhaul rope for another short blast. Got out for a few more runs before picking up my best 2sec run as I headed back to the carpark for the last run. Time to do a service (ie replace all ropes, unis etc)on all equipment me thinks. A pretty gusty old day by the time I hit the water, but seemed to fill in for a last hoorah after 6.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Nice conditions at Liptons, very well powered on the 7.0, hmmm maybe the 6.2 would have been wiser.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

A bit of a mixed session today. Probably did more chit chatting than actually sailing but overall heaps of fun in the sun. Started with the 97 when the wind was SW and heaps of smooth over the sand bar. Bagged some good alpha turns which I am stoked about. The wind looked like picking up so thought I would give the 85 a try but no beuno, the wind shifted south and went all weird, melville why do you taunt me so :(. Swapped back to the 97 but struggled a bit with the wind, just felt so gusty, shifty... Anyway plenty of smiles to go around. I was watching you Tim then couldn't work out where you went?? now I know! Thanks for the reminder btw, might swap out my uni tether as looking a bit sketchy.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU 54 Manta speed 5.4K 21 Tribal ultra weed

A gusty 13 - 23 knots when I arrived, so I thought I'd use the wider board for getting through the lulls. Weed was still thick so I went with my trusty 21 ultraweeed, even though I thought something bigger would be better in the short gusts.

I felt more comfy on the Manta today but I feel it doesn't have the acceleration of the Mistral speed board. I tried and tried to get over 35 knots today but just couldn't do it. 4 runs over 34. Peak was on the third bearaway. Since there was no speed PB likely I thought I'd give my fave nm run a go. There was a big lull soon after the start, but it was windy and flat near the end and I got a 33 peak. I did enjoy sliding in the smooth at the end.

Lots of tacking legs to get back, and a few more bearaways but there wasn't the pressure in the sail to get any good 2 sec speeds. I nearly fell in backwards a number of times on bearaways.

Wind was 16 - 27 kn after I finished, but the tide had come up and the water was not as flat.

2 sec, 5X and nm are all in my best 4, so a pretty good session. My top 4 2 secs are all over 34.78 now, so I must be close to a 35 soon. I hope it doesn't take as long as it took me to get over 30kn!

Lunny, I thought you said you'd done 63 km. I was thinking that was a short session for you!

A top session all round from you, as always. Thanks for the company.
