SEnsational sessions at Liptons, the breeze of the summer i think?, probably should've rigged smaller as felt overpowered on many occassions on the 6.3 but couldnt be bothered going in to rig down.  I think I have 2 x top five sessions for the 2 sec and 5 x 10sec so gotta be hapy with that.  My second run was 41.04kts on the dial so I just relaxed after that, though got a bit frusrating with lots of 38's and 37's after that then the wind booted in at the end and got another 3 x 40kt runs, and 2 x 39.9kt runsCool.  My thinking is I would've gone faster on my 5.9m, but I;ll never knowEmbarassed

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

lipton with a fairly big crew of mobbers and pinna,s

yee..ha...i am one happy rodent   finally got that forty knot monkey off my back.

started out on the 107 iso with a 33 tribal weedy as the wind was a bit holey to start

changed to the mistral 55 speed with a 25 vector ws when it picked up.

used the same 7.0 severne R6 on both.

Happy days for all who sailed today.

wind speed on my gauge was 29 kts

Also kiter had a major off jumping in 300mm of water - F@#ked shoulder had to be carried out of the water.

Ratz you legend

Late start didn't hit the water til 5 mins before it started backing of, oh well it was ripper fun out there just a bugger to get the small board going when theres a fat muppet standing on it.

Huge crew out everybody looked like they were having fun.

Happy to time my return run as it felt like it was switvhing of pretty quick.

Huge congrats to Ratz, nailing a couple of solid PB;s well done mateCool

Another great lilacs/pt grey blast. Heaps of crew out, I think the pinnas outnumbered the mandurah mob.

I measured 21knot average and 26knot gusts on the beach at Avalon about 1330, this agreed pretty well with the forecast, so toddled on down to liptons and rigged the 5.4, pluged into the 43 with 20cm 40/60deg weedy. Then matched the 5.0 with the 38 and 16cm @ 50deg weedy. Spent the first 2hrs on the 43, mainly at Pt Grey. Then the last 3/4hr on the 38 at Liptons, this resulted in my top speed.

So fastest this year so far and PB for the 38cm board. I love riding this board but it's hard work getting it going, if there's not quite enough wind.

Oooh yeah,,,  another great arvos sail at the fun farm. Had a board I had spent about 8 monthes fixing,,,  gave it a nose redoo, a patch

no the deck and foot straps, then all we needed was wind.  So,,, the board, 48 pintail, Ka kon5.8 sail, fin a mod weedy fin with skert 55/18cm.

It was good, even in the chop as tyed was a bit high but had axes to the inside run as everywere else was a bit rough.

Dont kno whats happend to that Bassil bloke,,,, maybe thats the reason things want so well ????!!   Wink    Ha

Oh, and I think I got PBs,,,,

Great little session Cool, lot of crew out, nice to catch up..

Well done everyone for the good numbers, good stuff Joe and Ratz for PBs) putting points Cool, well done Pas for PB Cool

Flew back this am from work, then picked my new toy next door at the airport, and even got wind to test it. Board is good but straps are crap!! Will have to change!

Happy with result for first try, only found the sweet spot at the end of session, by then wind had dropped, my goal is to achieve 40 on it and Alphas PB, we ll see if works for me Wink.Board felt very sporty, great to jybe, and all terrains, all I wanted, I think Im going to have lot of fun.

Hit the wall of speedat the 3runs, cld have done with more wind had a ball sailing the 3 corners Tongue out

CA_SL81L, RSR5.4, LSW23, then try my trusty 21/45, both was great with near matching speed

Fangyland with Sludge, Iain, Joe, Fin and the some Coastal Nannas Stroppo and Tom who had set up a foot bath to soften up their bunions while knocking out a few tea cosies with the crochet kit.

I only had time to fit in a short session before eldest snotgobbler duties at Uni, and with the UberDictatormobile still out of action, I had to load up the Bazooki with jousting sticks etc again. Being of simple mind, and terminally lazy I only chucked in the vintage Windtech and Koncept6.6, with the thought that, no choice of what to rig will save time, and of course the forecast would be spot on the money.

So I spent my short session ranging from underdone, to just comfy on the last run as the breeze filled in nicely. The high tide meant the inside was open for business, but my first few attempts had me entering too high for the wind strength. I am still trying to master the Windtech, but I have figured out that anything other than a nice planing exit and it will promptly sit down on its arse and get bogged. I slowly getting more confident and I expect to get a bit quicker as I do, but at this stage the board remains a excellent proposition for a short session. That is, I am exhausted after a few minutes trying to sail it. The FF24 tames its bad manners what to catch a rail in chop when pushing back uphill, but the fin is just too powerful most of the time. As Swindy says, time for a FF22. My struggles aside, in the meantime Sludge and Fin were bashing out high speed km's like some hyperactive metronomes, but luckily I didn't have the misfortune of either of them flying past pointing out the how good the sky looked, on too many occasions.

As I left, with increasing wind and tide, not only had the inside run become the pick of the downhills, but the area in front of Wamba Road was holding onto its smooth and was the pick of the alpha spots. A complete bummer to have to leave so early, but always nice to get wet, and share it the A graders from Coastal to show me how things could be done if I has a trailer load more skills. Fantastic to still have some weedy smooth in Feb that hangs in ther on the high tide. Short sail but a  Top Ten Fangy Vintage season.

Congrats Pas . I am presently hanging on to life by a slender therad. It is only my courage determination and sheer grit that enables me to survive the worst episode of the dreaded man flu in history.(My wife says that I have a bit of a sniffle)

Should I survive this terrible onslought I will be coming after you.

Oh yeah Ratz! Fantastic work mate, congrats on the 40knot on the score-board at last! StokedLaughing

And more good stuff from Finfella! Mate another set of PB's. You certainly looked quick when you went past S bend on the inside, and I reckon you might have put that Basil bloke back in the shade, at least temporarily...and it's a good thing he is stricken with The Plague, cos I think he might have been down kicking sand in my face instead. Foot in mouthLaughing

And slaps on the back for everyone who got out. From what I can see, the Mobbers had a good day athe office all round. Smiles on dials fellas.Laughing
