We bow in reverence to such a powerfull and obliging God.

But (there is always a but)should our new god fail to perform in future the vengiance of the tribe will be swift and terrible,without mercy.

Another fun day out. Wind better than expected.  Good to be out with a fair crowd today.  Early sail for me and was off early to get the boys.

Exocet Warp SL 94, HSM GPS 6.6

Arrived at Fangys to see Fangy rigging big, slugger wet and waiting and about 5kts. Slugger said he'd just been blown off the water, then the wind stopped.

So I tossed a coin, put the big yellow thing on the beach with it's huge 55d deltoid and to keep it company the 53 with the 20cm 55d weedy.

In hope I rigged the 6.2 fairly tight. Swindy and Barry arrived followed by Pas, then the wind kicked in

My choice looked about right for the 53, so took that out until lunch. Oaf had arrived then Stretch and Mark from Melville.

I thought the 48 with the 23 @ 40/60 would be a better choice, especially in the gusts. So went with that, and missed the extra width in the lulls, but appreciated the better chop handling with narrower board and deeper fin. Was getting much the same speeds, (in the mid 33s) until a stronger gust materialised with me upwind of some flatish water. This got my best speed, but somehow I bounced out of the harness. I tried to sail unhooked, and thought I was doing OK, but then my lower back twinged. Wasn't excrutiating, but I thought it best to give it away for the day and give it a chance to heal.

Turned out to be a much better day than it looked when I arrived, I thought it would just be up and down all day, but I probably planed 99% of the time

Fangyland with the new Queen and a heap of peasants. I went down to have a gander straight after the school run this morning, only to find Sludge had clocked off from work already. Apparently, you can do eight hours work in fifteen minutes. Who knew?

I went and got my party dress and joined him just as Huey buggered off. I was a bit worried that Huey worked like Sludge, put in fifteen minutes and call it a day. Cap’n Calm arrived and killed off any lingering chance of a breeze, so it was down to coffee and biscuits. Of course, at the smell of biscuits Swindy arrived and ate them all. That left us with nothing to do other than sun baking seal impersonations. Basil arrived with no discernible effect, but then his nemesis rolled into town and commanded the breeze to return so that he may slay the ol’ bugger Basil once more. 

A minute later I had the Barge and Koncept 7.5 on the water. Two minutes later I was starting to get overpowered. Three minutes later I was overpowered. I had smacked in my monster Swoody 22 (mod28) to get a feel for it’s holding power. I can say that the 7.5 was way too small to bother the fin. This fin will be for my 8.5+ in shallow water. Knowing that there were to many harbingers of zephyr camped or already on their way, I decided to just hang on. Surprisingly, I got my top speed for the day using the Barge and the Swoody 22. However, it was a bit of sphincter tweaking run, the fin just had way too much lift and I had to call time before I did myself some damage.

Next up was my vintage Windtech with a Swoody 22(mod 24) and the Koncept 7.5. The Swoody was very pleasing to use but neither board nor fin was up to holding the 7.5. So I rigged up the Koncept 6.6 and paired it with the Swoody 22 (mod24). This was the best combo for me, with a good trade between stability, upwind work and downwind confidence. For purposes of comparison, I then tried in the FF20. This felt slippery, but nowhere enough control to even think about getting much distance uphill nor putting in any downwind runs in the small chop. I am still struggling to master the old Windtech and yet to find a consistent sweet spot. I swing between fearing for my life and being bogged all on the same run. I am sure it’s just me not having the required intestinal fortitude and skills, so I am going to persist until I  get it right.

While I was mucking around with stuff, other things happened. The old Queen Johnski arrived, but then left if a huff of mismatching tiaras or something like that. Also, I found a $5 note floating in the water. Sludge suggested it was his. We all laughed ‘cos it was not like it was the $50 he usually doles out for small change at MacDonalds Drive thru. ‘Ken and Stretch arrived and proceeded to steal most of the jellybeans. And we had a virgin in the shape of Mark to represent those on the wrong side of the Pinna Proof fence. 

Lots of sailing, stuffing around and gas bagging, defo a Top Ten Fangy Day.

Great turn out of underemployed Mobbers today and only one pesky Pinna who we hadnt met before. Goood to meet you Mark, we wont hold being a Pinna against you. 

Wanted to test the 22 woodys today, I plugged in the speed version and fangy had the fat boy version at his disposal. I was super happy with the results, first run after I decided to turn my gps on and I had 35 on the dial and the first jybe was a 24 so mission accomplished. The only downside was that its upwind capability wasnt the best but it only let go a few times in the chop. There has to be a bit of a trade off I suppose as I took about 5mm off the thickness of the foil. I think Fangy enjoyed his go on my other 22 as he lovingly removed a large portion of the paint job around the tip and halfway up the leading edge. Payback for eating all his biscuits.

Happy with most of my results today, they are my best so far this year I think, apart from the hour. Brain health is starting to improve and more time on water should improve the fitness.

Coodanup, WA, AU. CA52/GPS7.3/Choco28WS. Followed Slugger's lead and took the arvo off work. Definitely worth it, a good crowd out and a nice 7m wind with a few bullets thrown in for good measure. I tried the 6.0, but there really wasnt enough wind for that. Finished the sesh back on my 7.3. Stroppo turned up, tried to coax him to come out, but floating makes you a bit soft   Great day!!!

yes success, took the charger clip apart and then filed down the locator to allow the pins to make a better contact. Least I did some work today..

used every board, best speed on the iso86 and tr16 6.3m mxr25

  Ahm,.. Im lost for words, it seems I can control things?? And even Basil couldnt calm it down with his presence. So I dont kno, dont blame me.

I was trying out an old "free ride" board (havent quite figured out what that meens yet) 52 wide and with a pointy nose. Took a bit of time

to settle in to the groove, but thing went well. It felt good going through the chop, and I thought I was going fast in the gusts,,, oh well.

Had the Ka kon 5.8 pluged in with 53/22cm weedy, to avoid going over weedbergs. Later had the blunt nose 48 board with 50/19cm weedy.

Did I say it was a great day, not too cold, yet, and nice wind.  and a bit of sun.
