Leschenault, WA, AU. FF113/GPS7.3 (35kts on that), then CA52/GPS6.0  Went up the north end of Leschenault and I think that was a good choice as there was a good little speed run on the west side of the estuary.  WInd was a bit variable but good to get out. There was a Busso invasion with Dave, Steve, Chris and Marcus all out having a good time.  Slugger and Max were going good too until Slug crashed and burned injuring himself Frown. I'll let him tell that story. Heal up soon Simon, hope you not stuck at the Doctor's too long

Fun time at Boombas.

Great to catch up with Auz, who was there with Roger and John when I arrived.

Wind was light but a good angle, Too light for the new board, so went with the 6.2 on the 53 with 36cm @ 45deg. This worked well for about 1.5 hours, then the wind swung more westerly and it was a scrabble to get back to base, for lunch.

Firie and Sam had arrived, Sam to take pics, Firie to test his rubber.

After lunch stroppo arrived and the wind picked up. He rigged a 6, so I went with the 5.4 plugged into the new board, with the 23cm @ 40/60deg.

I wasn't game to venture 6km downwind to the smooth stuff, so played around just out from the rigging area. If you could catch the front of a gusr after a lull, there was some almost flat stuff between shore and about 500m out. So I just did short runs, looking for good wind on flat water.

New board went well, longing to get it into flat water with wind!

That was very pleasant.  Had a late start, on the water just before 4PM.  Rigged in the nice sunshine, a few showers and some rainbows and tons of flattish water.  The tide was a lot better than the last few times I sailed here. It was also great to have the company of Yoyo who re-rigged when I decided to go out.  Just so happy to get out and have a fun sail.

Patrick 128 then 92, Maui sails TRX 7.0, leading edge 34 then 32 Great day on the water testing some new to me gear. 128ltr Patrick went really well with a top speed of 32knts and felt fine in a bit of chop too really liked it just hard to gybe as it’s 81 wide. 7.0 TRX also seemed a decent improvement on the 2012 warp that it’s replaced just going to take a bit to get used to as it’s a very different sail. Enjoyed myself at Boombas today and had the 2nd Bay to myself for most of the session.

Today I thought I better show up or I'll be looking for another team. Got to Boombas and caught up with the artic monkeys, got a few pluses today, one the monkey's also nice to finially meet Aus and great to see Sammy and his lovely partner.

Only a half arse session from me, no way near enough rubber protection for me so I pulled the pin after a few runs. I was impressed watching Mad Mike flying over the chop on his new built by him board. I was thinking how cool is that, sailing your own designed and built board. I think most of us have dreamed of doing it but end up putting it in the too hard basket.

Good call Pas, too cold for me and maybe last sail till exmouth Embarassed

Surprising fun in the sun with Cliff and Shane.

Exactly the conditions I thought the Mistral would be ideal for. 3-20 knots. I could not line up the flatish water with the strng gusts. Great to get out on a day which was forecast to be nasty but was sunny until 1600hrs.

Wind N-NW, launched at Harding.
