Another nice day at the bay. Wind didnt come in as strong as expected and was a bit underdone to start with. after the first few runs it slowly built and was a heap of fun. would have stayed out longer but the ankles were starting to suffer. Fitness and head seem to be improving so life is good.
Should have come back today Bob.

Well good job I took my big gear!!!
Pity Fangy didn't bring his!
Anyway, I don't get blamed for the lack of wind this time. It's squarely on Fangys shoulders, even though he's trying to palm it off on Slugger, who I might add wasn't even there!
Basil already had his 6.6 rigged when I arrived, less than half a meter under Fangys poor choice. So I followed suit and plugged it into the 65cm board with 20cm@55d.
Worked well, I was planing 95% of the time, pleased with the alphas.
Interesting my 2s was 8kts slower than Thursday before last but alpha was only 3.5kts slower. Does that make anysense to anybody?
Was Joined by Emery, Bono and Jeff the kiter. fun light wind session in the smooth

Fangyland for a cruise. Will post more later.
A quick birds-eye view of one of the channels today.
When I got down to Nairns the breeze was building and things were looking like we were going to escape the curse of a Sludgey seabreeze. I got that wrong. As soon as I finished messaging Cap’ Calm, he obviously waved his Wand of Windlessness and the arse fell out of the breeze.
Cap’n Calm then spent the arvo, trying to think of reason as to why I shouldn’t blame him. Suffice to say the excuse he came up with one of the worst of the season so far. Blaming me,…pfft, as if.
Hopelessly underdone I decided to be the optimist and float around with the Cap’n and the new Tubbyguts, Basil. I struggled all arvo, but occasionally had enough to get a decent planing run through the channels.
Apart from having a trailer full of sails and still managing to pick the wrong one, it was a really nice arvo. Top Ten Fangy Day of cruise cocktails.
Edit: Ka72 gave me a high alpha, I checked on GPSResults and got something a little more probable so I changed my post. The speed numbers were close enough.

CHeck out the wind graph below and guess when I hit the water.
17-19 knots measured on the shore when I was faffing around with my footstraps, whitecaps abounding everywhere when I got changed, walked out with the gear 1 kinda planing run out 1 kinda planing run back.
Stop adjust footstraps and harness lines, chug out to rock garden chug back all over red grover.
21 knots on a slapper is no where near as much fun on the foil

Tubbyguts indeed! My indignation knows no bounds. If my sailing was as profound as my idignation I would go a lot faster.
With the exeption of some questionable company a very pleasant light wind cruise.

Had a great sail with Rob and Dad, first time out in a while also felt much more in control using the fangy 22.
