Liptons, felt like hard work today, some exhiliration but stuffed it up in my head with too high expectations.  Mistral Speed 55/95 TR16 6,3m struggling with this sail feels too big now, and ever reliable Pepeweed 22/48.  Good to ctach up with Sammy and Stretch, saw Mike out for a while and Yoyo did reasonably well

Telly tubbies were going to invade safety bay today but the wind kicked in prety strong around lunch so I messaged the two non gender specific tubbies to inform them.

I should have hedged my bets and just rigged the 4.7 today. Had a fun time on both boards and sails and later on a nice long swim when my outhaul rope broke way out the back. What a pain tying it off in such conditions. Managed it once but it only lasted 100m so had to do it again. At least the water is warm.

Luckily the mind wasnt to overactive which could have led to a bit of panic but I stayed nice and calm and didnt deposit any scent in the water.

Liptons for a change, to reaquaint myself with the place.

Wind was very up and down, I saw a 13 low and a 24 high, so tossed a coin and went with yesterdays gear, 48cm board, 5.8 concept and 19@55 weedy.

Tide was low, so I went for a tyesting run to Pt Grey, and dragged the fin out of the gybe, a fair way out from the bormal run. I saw yoyo and hardie getting a fair way into liptons, but every time I tried, I just ran out of wind. And again it seemed too shallow. I wasn't game to send it, further out in the chop, not supper confident of the 19cm fin in chop at speed.

So I think in these conditions Fangys is more user friendly, the possibility of higher speed at liptons is always there, but a gust has to line up with flat water.

For me it didn't.

And this old back didn't like the chop after yesterday's effort.

Great to see Sammy baxk on the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardy and Stretch obviously didn't have my problems, they were both flying around.

Yoyo said he's forgotten how to waterstart, I'm not that good at either these days.

Novara Beach, WA, AU

A short but very enjoyable sail in the lumpy, set up was a dream today. Stayed away from the shallows, too scared now days, just short runs down through the chop lines, lots of fun. Except first couple runs where I hit a bit of weed, nearly called it, need to grow some new clangers I guess. As the wind dropped a bit I saw Strop so went in to have a yack then Alby, once high and dry I called it a day EmbarassedLaughing

fangy weed farm, WA, AU.                                   more later,,.. ????

OK, later it is, and had a nice sail in the weed with the 48 board, the Ka kon5.8 sail, and fin58/16cm weedy as the

waters were low and weeds high. Watched Fangy go out with his modyfide tractor and plough some extra furrows in

the middel paddock,....  ha ha haa,..  Laughing  Wink  Wink

Another funy ting happend while I was sailing over at the west end,...  after a hevy back slaping over some chop

I thought my water pack had come off, so I jibed back arrownd and wasted about 5min looking for it but could not see

it any were. Then realised it was still strapped to my back,,. so that was the end of an "hour" attempt.... Dho !!!!!!!!...

The circle is were I thought I had LOST IT....    well, mybe I did

Fangyland. Tried the Windtech vintage race board today, but I couldn't get comfy at all. I spent a lot of the session fighting the rig and as a result, I didn't get the speedo cranked up and I got tired very quickly.

Post more later

Windtech vintage raceboard, Koncept 6.6 FF22.  That was an unexpected surprise bit of breeze. When I say unexpected, I probably mean that it was a near certainty to happen; Millpond is tucked away down in Albantartica, Cap'n Calm is at Lipton's and Evets hasn't called it. Of course, it was going to blow. My first attempt on the Windtech had me cursing as I could not get the board to track at all and it didn't want to plane without a massive downwind bit of pumping.

Eventually, I decided to check the fin to see if some weed was caught. That's when I noticed the fin was hanging by its rear bolt only at an angle of 30 degrees, with more weed jammed in there than the hydroponics house around the corner. It turns out my little excursion with the rock garden last week might have damaged the front thread after all.

I trudged back in and replaced the bolt. Take II.  Pas and Sludgebucket soon join me and its Smiles on Dials time. In fact, the only concern was that the kites outnumbered the windsurfers. That was until two of them took each other out and created a monster macrame session of tangled lines.

Although I can't seem to quite get things sorted on the old board, it was good fun trying and experimenting. Next windy session I think I will give the vintage Windtech Freeride a splash again. Defo Top Ten Fangy fangin' fun Laughing

PS. Cap'n Calm - Lipton's is looking really really good again and I think you should give it another crack Tongue out

Fantastic Alpha Simon, but I'm going to have to check it

Edit, Sorry mate, it's a bit border line, the GPS must have slipped around, because the signal gets bad as you go into the gybe, then comes good as you come out, overall +/- of 0.889kts. So in the worst case scenario that would drop you back to a high 25

This is the thing I have with accuracy, and why I wear mine on my head, It's possible to loose a great PB, if the GPS is obscured from the sky.

I've sent the file to Daffy, we await his decision.

Great news, Andrew says, all the software agrees, the doppler data looks OK even though the accuracy has dropped off during deceleration. So the numbers stays as is.
