Quick sail, got caught up doing work in Perth so sailed Peli for a very brief session, rekon safety bay would have been the go today

Testing the foiling fun-factor in a 25-28 knot SSW at Dutchies. Crazy fun!
Changed over to the wave board when the cojones ran out

Good speedsailing condiitons at Melville today. Whilst gusty, tide was close to ideal but picking a gust was still a lottery. Good to see the captain sending it and Rob and Ben having a go as well as a few of the regulars. Weedbergs across the bar was interesting.

Just to show that the last Melville 30 wasn't a fluke...but they sure are hard work! A 30 at Melville is worth a 33 at Mandurah.
I was very tired after work today and almost went home for a nap instead of going sailing, but as usual, the fatigue left me when I hit the water, especially when the gear felt so nicely balanced from the first run.
I felt I should have gone faster (especially when 14 year old Taj got 37) but the gusts didn't line up for me today. The annoying trend was great acceleration reaching across to the sandbar, a bumpy strong wind area where I got lifted and unbalanced, then a hole with little wind just before the sand bar, and not much wind over the bar. Then there were the weed mats, which have sprung up all of a sudden. I might have done better with some weight, but I guess it was fitting to get 30 knots today because it was my 30th wedding anniversary today.
Thanks to my very understanding (non sailing) husband for letting me spend my spare time sailing with a bunch of other men.
You are the wind beneath my sails. XX

I was looking forward to a sail after missing out on the "Epic Coodanup Pinnavasion". It was much windier than I expected so had to use the 6.0 NCX that I have only use a couple of times. As before it felt like a board but with some input from Tim and loosening everything I started to feel comfortable ... and then hit the only weedberg in the Swan River. My catapulting legs hit the top two battens and snapped them. I had a couple more runs but it started to look like the batten was going to poke throught sail so I packed up. Tomorrow I have to prioritise work, the reticulation guy and picking up new battens.

Those are the numbers a wave sail at Scarborough produces. Although only 29 km it felt like 100. Good swell and absolutely awesome.

Another great day out on the water. Was having a great time but ran out of sunlight. Spent a lot of the arvo at pt walter by myself. Enjoyed watching a young flock of fairy turn chicks battle the gusts. Early on the tide was just right at Pt walter for the fin I was using, deep enough without too much chop. Returned to Melville to find conditions were pretty good there but by then the wind had started to fade. Tried one naughty just for good measure.

2166 days ago Watermans 5.8 Wave panther, Kode 95. Possibly should have used the 5 but the holes seemed a bit big. Filled in by 5 and was definitely too large. Great fun to charge up wind with the gusts and then surf back down with the lulls. A couple of fully powered up downwind in front of the swell lines. Great fun!!!
