Tim Ford (8857km): Valentine, NSW, AU Up and down went out on Formula gear had the wrong mast and rigged horrid.
| ||||||||||||||||||
Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Pretty averaage day, S to SW. At least it was a sail, nice change from foiling in light winds. RS2,, 6.6, 16MUF

Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Sunshine, NSW, AU falcon 115, S2 venom 7, select Vmax 37 first sail in ages due to bad back and I am feeling it now. Sunshine was great wind direction but very chopy espetialy when wind direction changed. Was good to finalt tune the 7m only second time I have used it felt great after dialed in. would normaly keep going but body was telling me to stop so I did.

Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU FF70 17cm fin and 6.2. Normal story nothing like enough wind. A fair bit of standing around. Good crowd of locals and visitors from Port Mac and Sydney. Fun afternoon Very lucky not to have to swim the channel, Matty and I got the last gust of the day to get home. | ||||||||||||||||||
Ian Wright (16360km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU S/W, then S then back to S/W. 5 to maybe 20ish knots at times. Fanatic Ray 102, KA Race 6.3, Delta 18. Out before lunch but was a bit light and and turned gusty South . Headed in for a break and lunch then had some rain and wind back to S/W and picking up. Out again and was looking nice , headed up wind ready for a few nice downwind runs but instead found a rather heavy piece of timber 150*90*1100. Just planning, hooked in and then the fin hit the timber resulting in a slow-mo type highly loaded catapult..Picked myself up and thought I am OK so no harm done. Grabbed the offending piece of timber placed ontop of board ready for transit to a shore for safe disposal. Grabbed the sail and boom only to find my near new Chinook Carbon Boom was very flexy. Broken at harness line and 2 cracks in the back end..Not too happy now. Derigged and tied rig and timber to board and paddled back to Buff Point. At least the wind was on my side helped me along. Missed the best of the wind. Piece of timber is at home so it can be dried out and punished by FIRE.

sboardcrazy (25098km): Patchy 12-18kts SSW few puffs 20kts plus Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU level 0.39 7m OD - 87ltre iso- 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24cm) then first go of 18cm tribal delta Probably most consistent for the first 3/4hrs then it got patchy. it came in every now and then before rain but I was often on a break then. Enjoyed the gybing in the flatwater and pretty happy with them. The FF was too big and would run aground in the shallows plus it didn't like the conditions. It picked up weed when I was off the plane and gave a good tug if I hit the weedbergs. I wasn't game to chug through any bergs..That was frustrating. Although I enjoyed the gybing I was trying for alphas and it was hard to score a gust long enough to cover the whole alpha, plus running aground all the time was a pain. I'm disapointed with the alpha - the watch said it was 19.13?? I thought I'd be pretty fit from sailing LM a couple of times a week but I forgot how many gybes Budgy needs... Only tried one bearaway for 28kts.. Not enough wind to bother.. Came in for a break and changed to the tribal. what a difference! My gybing improved out of sight..no worries re hitting the bottom , picking up weed or weedbergs.. I'm looking forward to trying and improve my gybes at the shallow end now I have that fin. I still love the Fangys but they don't like the conditions at Buff in a SSW. It finally came in but I'd been out for over 3 hrs and was sailing like a sack of spuds.. It was also hard to line up a decent gust in the small patches of flatter water. Did get a few fun bearaways but my shoulders were aching and I had a headache so I called it a day.. After one more decent puff the wind did too. The 7m OD wasn't rotating well today. the boom cam was so stuck I had to kick it a bit and whenever I beachstarted I had to give it 2 - 3 big jerks before it would pop. That was another thing that wore me out.. I'll fix it on the shore next time.. Just Pete ( from peely) and I at first then Georgio , Mark J , Dion , Andrew , Norm , Bill and Milo? Bruce, Ian and maybe a few others.. Ian hit a massive sleeper.Lucky he didn't hurt himself . . Nothing like the 25-30kts predicted except for maybe a few short puffs before the rain squalls.
