Ant-man (13419km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. 5.5 Cheetah, 79 Falcon. Very up and down wind and probably the choppiest I've sailed in at Budgie but heaps of fun with plenty out. Packed and gone just before the rain.
sboardcrazy (25098km): 10-20kts with occ puffs 25kts plus WNW then occ gusts 30kts + Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - level 0.44 5m OD - 70ltre Patrick- 16cm tribal Couldn't get into it today. Tired and nose was running plus I rigged too small. I rigged the 5.5m Mach2 but then chickened out and rerigged the 5m and killed it with too much downhaul and the wrong clewhole..Ok in the stronger gusts but not enough of them to get upwind so plenty of walking. I was going to practise gybes but there was either buggerall wind or when it did blow there was a bit much and I was too tired to be bothered,. I miss gybing.. I feel my sailing has been lousy lately and I tire easily. I notice the 2ltre camelback is hanging very low and pulling back on me so i'll have to find another way to tie it on so it doesn't sag. Came in for a quick bite and I was going to rig bigger but it seemed to be picking up and the change was due so back out. a few good gusts but I was never in the right place. Missed the gust of the day as I was too tired and stuffed the start,.. Cloud was coming so I came in and derigged. Glad I did! When it hit there were willy willies coming down the lake and I was worried the tree above the car would lose limbs. It also dropped from about 17 degrees to 9 degrees with a bit of rain. I had just seen Mick sail past on his first run so I think he would have had 'fun' when it hit! Andrew, Matt , Mick , Norm, Ric, Mark J , Tony , Jeff , byron and some others..

Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU FF70 and 6.2 before lunch then CA40 and 6.2 after lunch Typical Budgie day 10-25 kts of gusty westerly, then an insane 20 minutes of 40+ knots. Had to just hang on to the gear until it eased enough to sail home. That is a PB alpha for my speed board
mick13B (2059km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU isonic 86 5.5 hsm 17 krestral tried a new set up today had one run lifted the boom a bit came back went for another run sail felt great best ive set a race sail up was ready to give it a crasck THEN rain and a bit of a breeze blew in 40 plus for sure stood the worst of it out n work back up to the car park {sweet i made it back} was happy to survive
Hugh (11029km): first sail for ages today great to get back out super short sail today on my slalom board and 6.3 bumpy and wild came in over 40 knots and gave up matty dowse was absolutely smashing it out there in those horrible conditions
rus13b (5109km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 5.6 r6, sl91, 17 tech weed demon. a shorter sail today, was looking great just starting to in the groove & here comes 40kts from the sw for 20mins. i had just finished a run dwn to buff end & it hit. hmm thats a long walk. walked a bit & it droped enough to try & get bak. not much fun in a sw. got bak as it realy backed off. didnt realy come back after the front hit. a few people there, ian, andy, tony, geoff, matt. micky, rick & a couple more. nearly a pb & 10 runs, those 17 techt are wicked so it was a pb yeehaa.
Ian Wright (16360km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU N/W 10-20 knots then S/W rain squall 30+. Fanatic Falcon 51 Speed, R8 Overdrive 5.7, Xt50 14 fin. Very up and down today, on and off the plane and waiting for gusts to get going. Timing gusts when in the flat water was difficult. Still had a nice day and more time on the speed board. The normal Budgie and Lake Mac guys plus Rick , Mark and a few others.
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU falcon 89 , s2 venom 6.3 , kestral My back still no good first sail in ages and sore today its just not geting there looking unlickly for the AUS titles to be fit and OK with 7 weeks or so to go but cross fingers but loosing hope since I have had it since January. Morning sail before work and wind picked up last 5 min before I had to go to work allthough it was rough water anyway. |
