Melville Beach, WA, AU. Very cautious sail on the river to test my knee and foot. Good power in the gusts. Was on the 97 Mark oz Octane and the 6.2 sailworks NX with a 29 cl weedie.

Gusty sail on the River today racing yachts and dodging sand banks.

Good to get back out after yet another board repair. One of those days where it felt stronger than meter readings.

Peli Pt, WA, AU.

Well, I didn't expect (or pack the car for!) that. 20-25kn, a little gusty but absolutely lit on the 6.3. Had 6-7kg lead on today, as I didn't have the 5.7 with me. 2hrs straight of just powered up bliss. Water was real chopped up, and I knew the hour wasn't on right away, so went for a few miles and just general blasting and bump and jump. Some nice little ramps on offer today, but jumping with the lead vest on felt weird. Only did 3 mile runs and they were all 30+. A 30.3, 30.4 and 31.4 - all felt underpowered too. More to be had there me thinks.

Awesome fun session, body feeling the 2hrs now, but feet feeling brand new. Loving it Cool

Peel Inlet, WA, AU 5.4K, iS111 with 24 FF then manta 54 with 16 tribal weedie 18 - 21 kn which built to 22 with 26 knot gusts

First powered up session of the season, and first speed sailing session of the season for me. What a pity I was sore before I started, and after a run across to Point Grey the legs and hips were not happy. I quickly decided an hour was not on for me, and decided to try some powered up gybes. I used the big board because I have been gybing that well lately, but I was overboarded and over finned and the legs were feeling it. Never the less the gybes were amongst the best I have done, with lots of nice planing ones and some minimum speeds in double figures. I was hoping for a PB, but have to settle for a third best. The fastest gybes, which were over 19 knots and would have been PBs were too wide. More work required. I tried gybing the smaller board later but my feet kept getting stuck in the straps.

After the gybing practice I was quite sore, but decided to throw on the speed board and go for some speed runs. A bit disappointed with 31, but not bad for the first speed session of the season I guess. It's all up from here.

It was great to sail with the team for once - lovely to see Mark, Tim, Dan and Boz. Tim, thanks for the traffic advice. Google maps took me on a lovely tour of the back roads of Atwell and I really enjoyed seeing some new territory.

It was good to catch up with some of the Mandurah Mob, and meet their new member Waricle. Stroppo was on a mission and was looking good for the hour of power.

Finally a descent blast after so many false starts recently. Speed potential was looking good but the low tide called for smallish fins, to be able to get into the shallows. Started an hr but soon realised the small delta fin was making handling too difficult so tried some speed runs and alphas instead. Always good to get another alpha PB but good speed was harder to find. Good catching up with the local diehards and a few Pinnas. Also nice to meet the mob's new recruit Waricle.

Started early when the wind was quite light 15knts, 6.3 KAR and 74l manta, was waiting for it to boot in proper as I had to be off the water by 4:30, pity as this is when the wind strated to fill in nicely, great to see Strop taking full advantage of the wind to give a good crack at the Hr challange, few Pinnas out to play as well, great to see and the local Mobsters are out of hibranation.

Manta 74 KAR 6.3 (too much tape holding the sail together) KAR 5.5

Got down late to the party again after seeing a mate in hospital on his birthday. Knew i didnt have much time so went for an hour of power off the bat. Wasnt sure exactly what to rig as the locals were rigging 7s and 7.8s!! decided to go small as it looked pretty windy. Probably could have gone a bit bigger but some of the gusts were big. Saw quite a few stingrays on the point grey side, which reminded me of the last time I colided with one, and was quite shallow so didnt venture too far in.

Good to chat with Dan, Stroppo, Mark and Tim afterwards. By the time we packed up the wind was howling.

Wannanup, WA (Liptons)

Awesome and very long session today at Liptons with a bunch of Pinnas (Time, Woody, Kenny, Anita). Initially sailed the WindTech 72 Silver Bullet with 7.0 Loft Racing Blade and a Fangy Fin 22cm. When the wind filled in I changed down to the 57 Silver Bullet with 20cm Tribal Delta and also had a spin on Neil's speed board (the needle). Heaps of fun and good to see the crew out. Thanks for the Asahi Tim - it went down a treat!!

Hey Windy, using the xcel ones from Surf Sail, 2 sizes too small to make the fit real snug. Didn't even have to adjust straps!

I used to have xcel ones, but they changed them and made the sides too grippy.

I wonder if they have gone back to the old design. I shall have to take a look
