Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

I arrived and most of the Bridesmaids left except Kempster. He stayed as he needed help with eyebrow styling..... True Laughing

The flat water arrived as well....sort of. Hug the bank for a second, then fire it off into the chop for as long as you dared. Soooo close to a 40, this fin will do it. Great fun. Kempster hung around for a while and kept me company getting some great runs.

As the tide filled I went searching on my Nm run as the bars had covered in enough........just Undecided

Only ran it twice as I touched the bottom on the return run.

Oh.... I also ran the 5.7 speed for the first time and its AWSOME!!!!!!!

Sandy Point, Vic.

Shaort session. Only 5 runs.

Waited for the wind to swing as forecast and surprisingly, it actually DID! Laughing

But by then the tide was coming in so it was pretty rough going. I thought there was only about 20-25 knots of wind so I took the slalom board and 5.7m. First two runs and the best run on that, but it felt a bit out of control over the whoopdedos. The wind was mid to high 20's but the sail felt OK. So I went and swapped to the speed board. No time to rig the 5.2 with the tide coming on so I thought it would be interesting.

It was! I am sure I would have been faster on the 5.2m. There was prenty of wind and the angle was perfect, but the board just seemd weighed down by the larger sail, and the fin seemed to be a bit overpowered. It was fun though and I was definitly concentrating hard, as the only flattish water was 1 meter and less from the bank, so I didnt want to get any wobbles! Surprised

In fact, I have not run this close to the bank for a few years. It was really steep and 1m deep, 1 m out. I had my bum hanging over the sand!

After a very 'exciting' 6th run I gave it away. It was getting too dangerous with the standing waves!  Pity the wind didnt arrive a couple of hours earlier. It would have been really, really good.

You guys sailing on weedy lakes have it soooo easy. No tides and standing waves to worry about,  and can pick any angle you like. I am going to have to do some travelling. Tongue out Laughing

I am getting about worried about the behaviour at the PiT, eyebrow clipping?

So close Craig and yes that fin will do it but you have to stop dragging it through the sand!!

Nice session guys
