Sailquik (29582km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU About as good a blasting day as it gets now at Sandy Point. I just wish I was fit enough to go longer. 18-22 WSW to SW Did a 1hr and didnt think I was going to make it. No grip and arm strength. Wake up call on getting fitness back! Great to sail with kato, Tony and a couple of other regulars. Kato's 2020 new, Blue 6.6m Koncept looked fantastic from behind. He had speed on me today. IS87. Tribal 27 Weedspeed, 2018 6.2m Koncept. kato (37642km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU A great play at the Pit with Daffy, John and Tony. I started early at 10, Daffy needed more beauty sleep and arrived much much latter The wind started out WSW, so I went looking for more wind and longer runs down at Sandy Point B with a raging outgoing tide. Good fast runs with boiling sand coming up from the bottom making it interesting in finding the right lines between the banks. Spent a good hr down there before the wind moved more SW. Back on to the main run with the wind a bit lighter now and changed up to the big gear to blast around on. Didnt last long on that and moved back onto the go fast gear with a Speed weedie to chase Daffy around with. Interestling He ran Isonic,27 speed weed, 6.2 I ran CarbonArt,25 speed weedie,6.6 Similar sizes but I could point a lot higher even with the small fin. Similar downwind upwind speeds but Daffy would get a few Mt on me coming out of the jibes. Good fun with some very close contact SL66,Lessacher 28, KaRace7.9 SL52/53, Weapon 28/Lockwood speed weed 25, Koncept 6.6 | ||||||||||||||||||
Tone (3817km): good day out 6.5 severne OD on the 94 Isonic- swapped from straight 34cm fin to weed 45°/29cm fin- Much better, speeds nearly the same, more control and no weeds causing spinouts- makes life interesting as th ebank gets closer and no turning! Sail prob too big- smaller sail size KA riders Sped past me, but they had to try hard, interesting to see what they got on team challenge. good day out- tiring but made the usual beach to beach starts- been encouraged to jibe more- the inlet mouth needs expertise not wimps. hahabldyha- used to jibe no hands- wasssup? |
