It didnt get above 20kts all session yet the sail kept working.

Good beers afterwards too Tongue out

Sandy Pt,  KaRace 6.3, M137/PwrMax38, M112/WdSp27.   Nice session with Daffy as others headed over the spit for a pretty offshore wavesail at Longarms.   Lot of north in the easterley, late low tide had as tired/done as the east bank run was starting to flatten out with the weed/sand banks emerging.   Got the usual 40 burst sending it off into the channel.

Sandy Point, Vic.

it was a very iffy forecast. Meteye said 10-15, but in the end it was 15-20 and there were a few brief gusts close to 25.

Great to see Spotty blazing around! Laughing

Quite a few of the usual summer holidays windsurfers around today which is very different from the rest of the year.

When I arrived, the wind was 15-20 and pretty steady most of the time around 17-19 so 6.2m was rigged. but i had a feeling it would fill in so I rigged the 5.7m as well. Tide was still covering the easterly Sandbar so I went for a look see on the IS87 with the 6.2m and immediatly didnt like the washing machine chop. I headed up towards Yanakie to see if I could get a NM and if the water was a bit flatter. Yes and no. I did get a NM, but it was quite choppy and uncomfortable, not to mention I had no idea where any dangerous shallow spots might be. I saw over 27 on Logit and decided that was good enough, not to risk it again. After a couple of runs I came in the wait for the tide to drop. 40 mins later the wind had indeed filled a couple of knots and was pretty steady around 18-22. I took the 5.7m and it was perfect. Fully lit in the gusts but very powerful, smooth and stable. Did a few runs on Starboard bearing away from the bank and it was wild! Running 20-30m from the sandbar means 6 to 8" chop, which gets my attention! Saw a couple of 37 peaks in Logit so I was very happy. Thats about as fast as I can go on the IS87 and 27cm fin without being totally out of control! Laughing

There was definitly more speed if I had come back and got the speed board, but it was so much fun I didnt want to stop, and by then I was spent anyhow.

More like this please! Tongue out

I rigged the 6.2m Koncept on a different RDM mast today and it was sensational! Should have tried that one before!!

I have the 2020 5.7m KA Speed tuned up pretty well now as well on a slightly different RDM mast! I recon that is what I will stick with.

I was pretty sure that Spotty would have got a 40! Cool

IS87, 2018 KA Koncept 6.2m, then 2020 KA Speed 5.7m. Tribal weedspeed 27cm. GW-52 GPS.
